Ok... so i just took the mtx injection and now im not sure if i did it right lol.... I dont know if i got the amount that i was soposed to.  I am soposed to have .3cc but i couldnt get the mtx all the way to the .3cc AHHHHH someone?? help??They have my syringes marked so I know just how much to dispense, I have always ended up just 1/5th of 1 mil. short on the second weeks injection, I have talked to my doctor about it. He says thats not a horrible problem....You might want to consult your doctor about the shortage. I ,Myself ,would be more worried about getting too much than too little. You will want to consult your doctor about this. MTX stays in your system for weeks at a time. I hope that helps.

Good job on your first injection!  I'm not sure I understand how you couldn't get it to .3cc?  Does that mean you couldn't draw up the medication from the bottle into the syringe?  Did it come pre-filled?  I don't understand.  If you can explain it a little better, maybe we can help

sorry...im all flustered lol  no its not prefiled but i had to make it get to .3cc but there was a lot of air and i couldnt tell if the medicine was going to be equaled to .3cc becuase there was some in the little area right before the needle.  AHHHH im confused

The best way to do it is to pull back the syringe (before you put it in the medication).  Pull it back to .3 cc, or whatever amount of medication you need.

then put the needle in the bottle and push the air into the bottle.  Then you start pulling back the medication.  If there are air bubbles in it, just tap gently on the syringe to get the bubbles out.  You can also pull back and forth more than once as long as you don't remove the needle from the bottle (to keep it sterile).

So, the first time you pull back, you might get .2cc, you can push all the medication back in and pull back again to get .3 cc OR you can pull back more medication into the syringe (.5cc or something) and push the extra medication back into the syringe until you get your desired amount.

It is easier than it sounds.  Just make sure you don't have air bubbles in your syringe.  There isn't a rule on how many times you can pull back the syringe as long as you keep it sterile and get the correct dosage in the end.

Let me know if this doesn't make sense or you need more info.

overfill the syringe a bit. Thump the syringe pretty vigorously to push the air to the top..don't shake or you will build air bubbles.  Push the plunger until the excess air is gone and the excess MTX pushes out the top.  Continue until you hit the .3cc mark  Then inject.  After a couple of weeks you will be able to do this without thinking

I didn't know you could 'inject' MTX? This is new to me.  I thought they only did that in the doc.office. Hummm.  I've taken it orally, and now by pill, be not injected.  I guess that is easier on your stomach?? Good luck and I know you WILL feel better in a couple of days.  You will feel the stiffness and pain going away, away away!! Feelin'Better.

Thanks everyone!!! Yea i have taken mtx before orally but couldnt handle it due to some of the reactions so we are trying it this way.  Thanks for all of your help!
