Went to the rheumy yesterday. He asked me how the last 2 months have been and i told him that i quit work because things had got worse. He said, "thats right we were considering if you had RA weren't we." I was so shocked i didn't respond to that. I told him i had a list to go through with him because my memory is so foggy. I forgot on the way there what i was out for! Told him i had a sore throat and listed all the symptoms to go with it and he straight away jumped up and started feeling my throat and talking thyroid problems. I never would have thought of thyroid had i not read your post. I knew that's what i had after reading it. I didn't want to let on to the rheumy that i knew already that's what the problem was  Jenne if you, can bring someone with you to your dr appts. Someone just a little more assertive who will get him to go through your list and help you remember the answers.P.S I hope that didn't sound like i thought Deanna is grumpy. It wasn't supposed to

Jennee, so glad you are getting more tests. Your thyroid can really throw your body out of whack including weight gain, mood changes, panic attacks, feeling very tired and physciatric changes. It is a very good thing that they are going to check you futher on that.

I'm sorry it was a short visit but I imagine it was this time because it is so important to determine if this the source of your problems and most thyroid problems can be treated with a simple medication. Some to require surgery. But treating it can totally change one's health.

You need to let your doctor and the nurse know how foggy you are feeling and ask that they write everything down for you. If you do have anyone that can go with you, take them. You need that support right now and doctors tend to take things more seriously when there is a friend or family member there.

I'm not sure in what way I helped you, but I'm glad you feel like I did. You keep looking for those answers. Wouldn't it just be great if you didn't have PA? I'm glad that they are checking it out right away. That is so great to hear. Be sure you come back and let us know the results.

Please take good care of yourself.

Deanna it was the big long post on fibromyalgia that you did, you touched on thryroid problems in it as well. I can only hope it isn't PA. I kind of don't want to get my hopes up to far, it is the answer i would like to hear. He did say as well, that usually arthritis of all kinds develops thyroid problems as well. So i guess that means i have a 50/50 chance. Can't wait for the results!! I told the dr that the fog was so bad that i forgot what i was out for on the way to see him and he just chuckled. I think i would have liked a better reaction from a specialist than that. I just can't wait for something that will make me feel better.
Thanks again everyone.
