Terrible Hip Problem & Pregnant | Arthritis Information

Hello Folks - I'm 15 weeks pregnant now and for the past week I've been walking like the Humpback of Notre Dame.  My right hip feels like it's out of socket, hurting in the front groin area as well as in the rear.  No position is comfortable, and I can barely move myself around.  My leg wants to stick out to the side.  If I manage to get it aligned under my body then my left hip pulls up so my left leg won't touch the ground.  It almost feels like it needs to pop back into place or something.  My next Rheumy appt is not for another month.  All I'm taking is Enbrel (50mg once per week) and popping Tylenols every 4 hrs.  Any suggestions?

Thanks for your thoughts,

Mandi

Ow ow ow!  Hip pain is horrible.  Have you tried heat pads on it?  It might relax the muscles so everything can get back in alignment.  If it continues on, I would call your GP or your OBGYN to see if they can see you sooner than the RD.

UPDATE:

Thanks for the advise.  Right now I'm using one of those stick-on heat pads they sell for menstral pain or back pain, and that's helping a little.  My rheumy is on vacation, but his partner called me in an 8-day tapering Pred pack.  Hopefully I'll get to take the first dose by lunch time so that I'll feel well enough in the morning to go to work.

I hope that you get some relief soon! Love and very gentle hugs, juliah
