Okay, we've been sharing photos, so I thought I would share photos of my last set design,  This was for a production of Steel Magnolias in our small theatre, which was put on by the senior level of students in the performing arts school which is a part of the theatre.

So watta ya think, does it look like a 1980's hair salon in Truvy's garage?

Scroll over to your right to see all the photos.

This is really cool. Hope you had fun with your project.Wow, great job! I agree...nice job!It looks great!  OHHH i miss theatre :(  i did it in hs and i loved it.  Though i didnt act HA yea never had the guts to get on stage but i did alot of the behind the scenes stuff. Wow, that is so clever and professional Hillhoney.  Where do you get all of your props?  And, I really can't remember the hair styles in the 80's.  Was it the "helmet" look with tons of hair spray, etc?  Maybe that was the 70's?
I bet that was fun to do.  You should be very proud of your accomplishment.   Thanks for sharing.

Thanks guys, glad you like it!  The props come from anywhere and

everywhere.  The salon chairs I purchased on ebay, the nail station I bought at Goodwill,

all the hair "products" were empties I collected from area salons, and believe it or not,

the sink I found on the side of the road, literally, and adapted.

The tricky part was that the sink really had to have water, so we

used a large garden sprayer and hid it inside.

Oh and the counter, or stations  was actually an old piece

from a department store that closed, and I covered it with contact paper.

The rest either came from my house or the props department

at the theatre.  You wanna talk about a fun place to play, the props

department is somewhere you could spend hours!  LOL
