Feelling Worthless | Arthritis Information

Hi Everyone,

Just needed to share with someone. I have been
feeling so worthless this week, especially this
weekend. My house is a mess....everything
needs to be done (I did manage to do dishes). I
went to the laundrymat Wednesday (it's right next
door, so don't have to carry stuff too far; live in the city
and don't have a car). But anyway, all my clean
clothes are still stacked in the laundry basket waiting
to be folded!

I started cleaning out cabinets last week and still
have things scattered all around. I live in a very small
two-room apt. sor clutter adds up quickly. Took
Friday off work to try to get some things done, but
ended up sleeping most of the day. Been feeling
very weak, fluey, tired and sore all week.    My
energy vanishes quickly. So it's Sunday night and
still haven't accomplished anything!

I'm also very overweight but have no energy to
exercise      AACCCKK!!!

It's going to be a stressful week and I am going to
visit my dad next weekend (He is very worried about
my weight [and RA> and although he loves me
tremendously, but will be disappointed that I haven't
lost weight)

Anyway, I know things will someday get better, but
just wanted to share with some friends.

Thanks for listening,
Tara L

I know exactly what you are talking about... i am sitting in my one air conditioned room (been upper 90's) that needs to be cleaned. I have picked up most of the crap in my living room and brought it in here. so what have i done to clean the room? well i did bring a trash bag in here and put a few things into it, but i am still sitting here watching tv and reading the forums. i look at the piles of filing to do, homework to be done, and newspapers to be recycled... i am not too tired, just SOOO UNmotivated!!!!

I too am overweight, way overweight....

Sleep the night away...

One day inthe future you will have the energy to do all your cleaning and maybe exercise... i am trying again to jsut watch what i eat. I lost 70 pounds a while ago (gained it back) and about half of that was just watching my food intake. i didnt start exercising til i had lost like 35 pounds! I need to start over.. and im trying the water and watching food.. I have been CRAVING ice cream for a few days,. but have not had any... *pat on my back*

I hope you feel better, i guess this isnt a super supportive reply, but i wanted you to know you are not alone. and it will get better!!!! if i lived closer, i would come help out, for some reason i can clean another house but not my own!

I do understand though...until yesterday mine looked like  a cyclone hit it. It does a majority of the time now a days. I spent all day cleaning it up and yesterday was my rest day....but I could not rest. I take my MTX/Humira on Saturdays and Sundays are so slow for me. I had to do it though while I was up to it. Sometimes I just can't...so I do all I can on the days I can.

I use to stress about every little thing; but I figured out I was making myself crazy over it all. Unless I have company over I honestly just do what I can now. Like Meme; my husband could care less....and if he does; he can do it!! He's good about helping out, but he's tired too when he gets home. So we leave it until we've both had enough and then usually jump on it together.

And try not to beat yourself up about your weight either Honey; that's a difficult challange for anyone....and you have other challenges to face as well. And you should let your father know that RA is not caused by excessive weight. It has nothing to do with it. Theirs plenty of people here that struggle with RA and don't weigh much over 100lbs.

Cheer up Sweetie. We're here for you.

Lovie

Thanks you guys for all your encouragement, your wonderful words of wisdom and especially the hugs!!!. J You are all very special and I appreciate each and every one of you.

I feel much better.  I actually did get one thing done last night and will try for something else tonight after work.    It’s hard, as you all know, to be less of a housekeeper than ‘normal’.  And when my body gets stressed and my glands get swollen, I can hardly do anything but sit or sleep.  (I have a hysterectomy scar and the end of it seems to rest right over a gland, and when swollen…ouch!)

Anyway, you guys are awesome.  It’s so nice to hear that I am not alone and that there are others who care and understand!!

Blessings,

Tara L

Tara.....the most important thing is you taking care of yourself! Chores such as folding laundry, cleaning the house can wait until you feel better. You need to focus on getting healthy. Try incorporating some healthy foods into your diet slowly. I have a friend who makes me a loaf of ezekial bread once a week (you can google that and see what is in it). That is one thing that I do to take care of myself. I also try to drink a lot of water. If you are overweight, yet eating healthy, you are one step ahead of the game. Maybe first, focus on bringing more healthy foods into you diet, before you concentrate on losing significant amounts of weight. Once you get into the habit of incorporating healthy foods into your regular diet, you will begin to feel better, thus inspiring you to work towards your weight loss goals. There is no hurry in losing weight, slow and steady is the healthiest. If you are obese, maybe your doctor can refer you to someone who can help you achieve your goals. Anyhow, focus on YOU and getting well. That is the most important thing. The other stuff will come in time. Love and gentle hugs, Juliah
