Just curious.  I was feeling well when I took my Humira shot.  The storms had passed.  After shot I got nauseous, headache and body aches.  Has this happened to anyone else and do you think it will go away?  I am feeling better now.  Shot itself - no biggie.  I might check into a chamber of horrors if I thought it would improve my RA Roxy that is exactly how I felt after my first Enbrel injection.  It is a little better now after the 4th one but the headache always comes so that day is all day jammies day.  I try to dress every morning to at least feel like I am a part of life but not on injection day.

I hope the side effects ease some as you go along.

Hey Roxy--Hope this improves for you. I did 3 months of Humira with no side -effects---and no improvement either. Now with Bonny just beginning Enbrel. I have increased fatigue and headaches. 2 hrs. ago i did my 5th injection--the hedache is starting. They have been improving each week. just hoping maybe having a mild reaction to it also means i'll have some kind of good reaction as well ! Would be very nice for a change to feel better from a med. instead of worse.  Good luck to you!OK  guys I will go with your theory.  The headache is still here, next morning and acheys but maybe that means it is working.  The side effects of these drugs can get you paranoid what every little sign and symptom means.  No RA improvement except I was not flaring when I injected it.  My RA is slight the last two days.  I have to believe this Humira is going to make the difference.  I just hope the headache subsides.  I have been taking Excedrin for migraines but I have not been taking pain pills.  They don't seem to help headaches but the Excedrin eases it???I do not get any side effects from my humira, in fact, the day I take it is usually my best day of the week!!

The Excedrin my help with the headache more because it is aspirin based and thins your blood a little when most pain pills are Tylenol based and do not affect the thickness of your blood!  Try VERY cold washcloths or if you can stand it, an ice pack to the head helps my headaches a lot!
I've taken two shots so far, and my only side effect has been a mild headache. The shot itself (auto-injecter) is a piece of cake ... no injection site reaction at all.

Two days after I took my first shot, the horrible swelling in my right hand had almost disappeared. I hadn't been able to see my knuckles in nearly a year, and they were always real squishy. Now I can see my knuckles, and they're nice and hard, like they should be!! After my second shot, my shoulders quit hurting, and I can actually lift my arms straight up in the air. I can also straighten out my left arm for the first time in years.

With me, it seems as though the areas that were affected by RA early on, and have bothered me the longest, have been the first to respond to the Humira. My legs and ankles didn't start to bother me until more recently, and have responded the least, though my knees definitely feel noticeably better. I suspect my ankles will be the last to respond, since they didn't start going whacky until a few months ago. I guess the RA has to get all it's digs in before taking a rest.

treefrog looks like you hit the RA jackpot. Way to go!

Roxy I hope your troubles are unrelated to humira. Hopefully it is 'just nerves' involving a new drug. I took 50 mg of benedryl about 30 minutes before injecting humira the 1st time and went to bed. The benedryl almost always makes me sleepy. I had a case of nerves too. I had the headache before injecting!

Even though the 1st injection went well I did the same thing for the 2nd injection. The 3rd inj was Saturday nite - and I skipped the benedryl. It is working for me but that shot really stings for about 2 minutes.

Not a clue Roxy - I used Humira and had no side effects it just didn't work for me.  Wishing you all the best with it and have my fingers crossed it's the med for you.  Hugs and good vibes.

I was still sick today and they prescribed medicine you take for side effects for chemo.

Tree Frog thanks for the hope and Liz - I am so sorry it didn't work for you.  The actual injection doesn't bother me one bit but boy have I been sick.  My body does not tolerate drugs well
