Someone wrote her (or his) knees were weak in the morning resulting in falls. those who take this please respond as I also have had some 'strange' experiences with my knees lately. Left, which has never been a problem has been hurting (getting out of the car now that I drive--can't remember to swing both knees out. just wondering?Hi Hurts, Yes you can get very weak to your knees. I am decreasing my predisone now and I am at 5 mg. now and ever sense I started to decrease it I am having terrible pains in my legs knees and the whole thing. It can help you but it also can cause alot of problems. What dose are you at? Joan at what dose did you start to see pain? I did at 12.5 and it gets progressively worse. I'm at 9 and not allowed to drop 1 mg for a month nowI'm off prednisone as of Monday but I found this happening when I started prednisone over 2 months ago.  I don't know whether it's from the pred. or ra?

If I turn my legs getting out of the car it's like I have to be careful how I twist or they feel like I'm popping them out of socket and it's excruciating!

Dh was massaging my neck the other night and I turned my torso to talk to him and my one knee hurt so bad because it felt like I popped it out of it's socket!

If it was because of the pred. I'll know in a few weeks since it happened again on Sunday but I was only on 2.5 mg before I quit taking them on Monday.
I was on 30mg of predisone but now I am down to 5mg a day and next week it will be 2.5mg for 2 weeks and then I will be off I hope the god. I have been on it for 2 years. The doctor told me that I am suffering right now from predisone withdrawl. And it is no fun I only hope I can make it to the end I have gained 45 pounds in one year. I feel like I can't breath half the time. I am on enbrel now for 2 months but I think I might have to go on something added to it. Ireally hurt  but the doctor said I should try to bare it until the withdrawl from predisone is over. You know it can help but it also can mess things up to. You take care and god bless you. My how doctors differ...I have only been on the pred for 6 months and he chooses to make this last 9 mgs tapered using a guideline of 1 mg every 2 to 4 weeks. This will take forever! I guess to prevent the withdrawl you are going thru. He did say if I don't follow his instructions and try to rush it I will send myself into a terrible flare.

I gained weight too. I am miserable about it.

Hope you are feeling better soon!!!!!!!
