Hello Everyone,

Has anyone ever taken or is on Dexamethasone 2MG? The dr wants me to try this. Any advice would help!!

Thanks A Bunch,

Lisa

In past years I underwent a number of eye surgeries and was prescribed dexamethasone ointment for a few days following the surgical procedures to reduce the possibility of eye irritation/infection.

I do know that It's a cortisteroid drug but don't know anything more than this.

Dexamethasone, also called Decadron is a powerful steroid. It is one
commonly used on people who are on chemotherapy to offest some of the
side effects of the chemo and on Neuro patients, such as brain tumors to
help with brain swelling. The ENT doctors here use it alot on children right
after tonsillectomys and they seem to fare well on it. I don't think it has as
bad of side effects as prednisone but you also don't see people on it long
term. It is a very good steroid in my opinion.

Thanks for the replies.  I started it this morning so I will see how it goes.

Lisa
