So I'm sure somewhere someone has posted this. But you know I just finally went to a reg. doc, and she gave me Mobic.
I'm just curious for those of you that did use it, if it worked and how long it worked for. The side effects you all had, etc etc. All the great questions!!
:( Didn't work for me, Hope you have better luck.Hi Katie - worked great for me - it takes a few days to build up in your system which is a pain - because I go off of it and when I need it again it takes a bit to kick in - my rheumy doesn't like me to take it for long periods because it can cause tummy probs but I never have had any problems. I think the longest I ever it took it was about 6 months. I hope it works for you - also he told me not to take anything else (aleve, ibuprofin etc.) while taking it. Hugs and good vibes. Yep, I'll admit.....my dumb self FORGOT and took Midol the first day with it..................DUUUUHH. I was *quite* dizzy, to say the least. OOPS!
Girl, you're always dizzy! Don't be trying to blame it on the meds! Mobic-just another one of those rotating NSAIDs rheumys put you on that you're never really sure works.I take it every day. I don't know how much it actually does for me, but I take it. It gave me stomach problems at first, but now I seem to have adjusted to it. No other side effects that I'm aware of.
I tried the mobic and did not get much relief...however, I think I'm in a major flare. Currently, I'm taking arthro-tec-75 twice daily and getting better results.
Katie I swear by it. I tried many others and then was put onto a double dose (15mg) of Mobic daily. It saved my life while the MTX started to kick in. I had no side effects that I am aware of. I am not on 7.5mg every night and if I miss a night, I slightly know about it the next day, not that I miss many, maybe twice.
Good luck!
Wendy
Thanks everyone. Honestly, I'm not expecting a lot. I've done the Celebrex and what nots and none of them did squat. But I'm gonna take this just like I'm told, and hope for the best! I'm on 7.5 right now. Once a day. So, here goes!Mobic is touted to be easier on the tummy. My internal med doc was in on the testing of this drug.
When they gave patients a high enough dose it was a great anti-inflammatory, but it made ulcers at the same rate as the others.
So the dose was lowered and the tummy troubles got a whole lot better. It still worked for a few folks at the lower dose.
It didn't help much with pain or stiffness for me. I say good luck, and if it isn't good, try another nsaid. There like 30 of them - 1 of them will work for you.
That's the idea!! :) So umm...now that you mentioned it...
