I would obviously know If I had TB right?

I have no symptoms at all but I am scared that I can catch this because I have RA.

Im such a hypochondriac, am I scared for no reason? please put my bad thoughts to rest someone....anyoneI am not around anyone with TB. I had the TB test today and they said it will take 72 hours to find out if I have it. my rhuemy said it doesnt mean I have full blown tb, just that If positive I have it in my system.Zeekman, I converted to a positive TB test several years ago. Eventually,
most nurses do. I have never been symptomatic. Also, it is treatable if you
do have it. If you are not around it, I would not worry much. They only treat
you if you have symptoms these days. Also, the test can be read in 48
hours. Look at site on your arm. If it is raised up hard, red, there is a
possibility that you are positive. If it is not raised, no worries.

Zeek, I'm with ya, man. I got pretty paranoid about everything right after I was diagnosed. I felt vulnerable and scared. I didn't know how to "do" RA and was sorry I'd ever gone to the doctor.

You will figure all of this out and live will get back to normal. Not normal like it was before, but RA normal. It's all good.

So if you have dormant TB you can get rid of it? Why wouldn't eveyone want to get that out of their body?

Thanks for the responses you guys. I appreciate you caring. My doc said I cannot take enbrel for 6 months IF I have dormant TB. They will give me meds first then I can take enbrel.

Im watching my arm with curiosity.....and fear....

What happend that made you think you have been exposed to TB? A friend of mine's child was exposed when he was 3. That meant that someone literally had to cough in his face, spit in his face etc. They don't know how he got it. In any event, it's not as easily spread as people may think. If you were exposed you will test positive for it, but that doesn't mean you "have" it.

Like I said, I am a hypochondriac

I don't thing I have been exposed, I just hate waiting for results. Makes me nervous.
