Good job Kel!  Great idea to have someone with you for your first dose.

Good luck.

GOod for you Kel. I've been on MTX for over 4 years now and it's really made a huge difference with very little side effects. Hope you'll find the same results.Good Luck Kel, I hope it works for you!

Dear Kel, you will be okay. Let us hear from you in the morning. Hurting less. (I've taken it for 15 years, yes fatigue, slightly runny nose and like I have a cold coming on, but then it goes away in a couple of days) My doctor assures none of my bad symptoms are from MTX!!

Congratulations. Believe it or not, there will come a day when you don't even think about it. It'll make you tired, maybe, so you say, okay - I'll be tired tomorrow, so I'd better do this today. And you may/will have to up the dose or mix in other drugs. You'll adjust to that, too. I've been on MTX for over a year, now, and on Arava for 9 months. I barely give it any thought.

I hope it helps you quickly - but have patience, it can take a while.

Good luck!

I just took mine yesterday too! I was freaked out. I took mine during a managers conference just in case I keeled over! lol

I did not notice any side effects that I could notice except a lil sleepy.

Congrats! Glad you are doing ok!

I have been on MTX for almost a year.  It has completely changed my life for the better.

Good Luck.

When I first started MTX, I used to take it on Sunday nights and go to bed. I could feel the exact moment it hit my bloodstream. It was really weird. It did work well for me with the addition of Enbril. I had to go off after 6 months because my liver could NOT tolerate it. Now I am on Imuran and it is a wimpy drug.

I hope you can tolerate the MTX. I think the MTX and a biologic seem to be benchmark treatment and they work.

I am feeling very tired today, the day after i took it. Like i just cant seem to get going, lethargic. i will have to live with that feeling i guess. what i have heard others say is that is goes away after a couple days.  i was also put on prdnisone a few days ago, and it has done wonders for my very painful hip.  I just hope as i go down on the pred that the pain doesnt come back.... You guys are the best!

I've been taking it a month.  I feel alot better.  I don't think I knew how BAD I did feel.  I haven't had my first liver test so I don't know how my liver is handling it but my feet are very happy!

Yes it is amazing isn't it. I've taken MTX for 15 years and am now having to add Remicade (3rd visit Monday), and felt terrific Tuesday!I'm also taking 6 tablets of MTX weekly plus Prednisone (getting off of I hope!)This is an ever sorting process. Good luck
