Marathon, Week 4 | Arthritis Information

Week 4 is done.  We walked 70 minutes on Saturday and I did much better this week.  I admit to investing about 6 hours in looking for a good pair of shoes that would help support my feet.  They sure were hurting.  My muscles are sore and my knees are aching so I'm taking more advil than normal but it is getting me through the aches and pains of using muscles that haven't been pushed in a while.  Each week we add time so I'll just have to see how it goes.

I don't know if the rest of you have this problem but sometimes my tendons snap.  At least that is what the rheumy tells me it is.  That is painful and now that I'm walking more, I noticed the tendons on the top of my feet are starting to snap again.  The doc says that is from swelling.

I'm still very tired Saturday evenings and it doesn't help that I take my mtx on Sundays because I'm struggling on Mondays to stay awake but hopefully that won't last long.  As I adjust to the increase in mtx, it does get better.

As usual because I'm pushing myself I get more tired than usual but I still feel good about what I'm doing and my doc supports it.

I've been reading the posts but haven't had time to add my information but I read about how everyone was dx'd and everyone's background.  It was very interesting.  There is a lot of commonality amongst the group.

I watched "The Boy Whose Skin Fell Off"; Jonny Kennedy's hour bio about DEB and after watching that I promised I would try not to complain.  He was so brave and suffered so much, but he was an inspiration in life and now in death with his gift of allowing himself to be seen at his worst.  I am reminded of the strength of the human spirit. RIP Jonny!

I am very proud of you! You are truly an inspiration! Love and hugs to you, Juliah
