dexamethasone effects | Arthritis Information

i am currently taking therapy for tendinitis. three times a week and using dexamethasone. the therapist pour it onto a patch and places the patch over the painful area. electrodes are hooked up to the patches and the medicine is worked directly to muscles. since i have been doing this for six weeks and still going, i have bulked up like an athlete, my muscles in this arm are very strong even my shoulders look like a football player. since this medicine is also a steroid, i wanted to know if any else has experienced this.I have had this a lot and never experienced that before. I've always loved it cause I get the positive effects of steroids without the side effects of prednisone or an injecttion.  That is odd. I have been getting the same treatment since September and
haven't had that side effect. What does the therapist say?Talk to your therapist, working in a physical therapy office, and having a lot of physical therapy myself (with this treatment), I've never heard of this.thanks all for responding. i will see the therapist tomorrow. if the steroid is not causing this then i don't know what it is. the other meds i take are vicodin, fosomax naproxen and calcium. and i have been taking them for a long time without this happening. when the tested my muscle strength, the other therapist said it was the steroid that increased my strength so much. it is depressing to be a woman and have upper body looking like an athlete. thanks for listening
