Hi everyone - there have been some strange things happening on this board. Check post 14.3.07 SSI Check, pincushions post 13.3.07 at my reply same date in which I mentioned people being harrassed on this board. MODR8TRS reply 13.3.07 in large capital letters saying I have a right to file a complaint etc - as you can tell by my posts I was meaning against him. As watchingwolf said in her post 13.3.07 it was originally directed at pincushion by MODR8tr but then it was correctly changed to Cassandra - coincidentally I happened to be on line at the time & there was a quick message again in large capital letters saying I was banned from the board and have been unable to register or log in since. Who is able to ban people from this board if there is no moderator - I was told the owner could - who is he. Is it political, drug companies or what - there seem to be a lot of experts in the medical field appearing on this board in the last few weeks. iT has been difficult for me to get back on & I can read the b oard but not post - I am so sorry for what Deanna is going through - whoever is responsible for this I hope gets their karma. If I cant get back on & I have to admit I am unsure whether I want to then thank you to the support I have had in the past & please keep supporting those who need it. Anyone who has the computer knowledge to expose these people go for it.

Cassie I am so sorry you are having problems like this. What the heck is wrong with this board all of a suddenCassanrda - if you trust me (and I understand if you don't) PM me your old login's information and I'll see what I can do. All of that sounds VERY fishy.... Also - where did you get the message that you were banned? May I see a copy of it?
Several folks have had trouble logging in....not just recently. I know of several that had to create a new ID & Password to get back in.
That might be all it is. I highly doubt it's anything more than that.
I've also been having a great deal of trouble logging in. This could just be a server gliche. But if Cassie is getting a message that she has actually been banned then that sounds like something else.Yeah, I have a feeling that it just glitched, but the message that she got was a little....curious. To say the least.
Cassie - your old username is *NOT* inactive. I know how SQL boards work, your username is still on the list, still in active state. Give it a little while, and try to log in again. I'm gonna see if this is a common problem with Web Wiz forums. That may be all there is to it.
HOWEVER - If anyone else recieves this same "message" and then suddenly can't log in shortly after PLEASE PLEASE let me know. Let's just say I know there are ways a person could "inactivate" an account, and should I find out that any on this board has done that ILLEGALLY.........well....I *do* know where to go, and who to contact (unlike some who claim such knowledge)
Katie, I repeatedly am having the same problems with logging in. It seems to not be handling cookies right any more. Switching between browsers does seem to help.Well it's gotta be the sever they're using then. Cassie - you need to try to dump all your temporary internet files, and cookies. Maybe that will help?I can't log on here thru FireFox. I had a message from a friend that my PM box was full and went to clean it out and could not log in...so I opened up IE and got in ok. Here is the message I received when I could not log in:
Un-Successful Login
Your login was un-successful due to a cookie problem.
Please ensure that all cookies are enabled on your web browser for this web site.
If that doesn't work, go to the Tools heading on your browser. And delete the cookies. If you need help, tell us which browser you are using and someone can walk you through it.
I went back and tried and it worked. I think the problem was that I needed to type the main site back in instead of using the bookmark like I'd been doing. Isn't that what you meant Deanna? Anyway, it worked. Yea! Now I don't feel quite as stupid as usual. The reason that works and not your bookmark, is because of the cookie cache. You really just need to delete your cookies, and then your bookmark will work again.Hi everyone - I deleted the temp internet files & cookies a few days ago & that made no difference - havent tried again since but I will soon. Katie I havent got the banned post that came up - it happened just after the message I posted on 14.3.07 page 13 - I was fairly annoyed with him & MODR8tr responded to pincushion who had been posting previous to me about these idiots. He changed pincushion to cassandra, quite rightly as it was my comment that there are laws in some countries regarding computer harrassment & it was then the banned notice came up in large capital letters as is the way he usually posts and the notice about how he was filing complaints but the banned notice disappeared & hopefully he has too.I do know someone who knows a lot about computers but so far have not wanted to bother him but if I have any more problems I will.I think it is a few people causing all this trouble but am I correct in thinking that most of them have now gone - I havent been reading all the postings since then. Watchingwolf on her post on 13.3.07 had noticed it was addressed to pincushion first then changed to me - I was online at the time - he is obviously fairly computer savvy. The attacks on Deanna and Joonie were particularly viscious and have put us all on edge but we should be able to recognise their nasty way of attacking and should maybe just not respond to their postings if they appear again. Everyone is entitled to an opinion but they are not entitled to be nasty with their opinions but unfortunately there are some obnoxious people in the world - let's hope they get help.

It's just *one* person cassie - I'm on the verge of the same thing. I'm about to let *ahem* have full reign of this thing, and take his ass out. And he can report me all the hell he wants, all reports like that go to the same people who take care of child porn and drug trafficking on the internet and I just HIGHLY doubt they're going to be interested in a little squabble like this. So I figured I'd just get someone ELSE to take care of this sh*t. Excuse the language, I'm just really flippin irritated. He's NOT computer savy at all (Mod) he just thinks he is. If he was so computer savy, Joonie and I wouldn't have figured out who the hell he was, and what all his usernames are :) HAH.
Katie - is there any reason why you cant post his usernames?
Cassie
I don't want to rile him up just yet. Let us get some more info. Have faith. ;-)Katie,
You give em h*ll girlfriend. I've got your back
Lori This is going to be good. Joonie and Arriscolwell are going to plan the crime. They are going to bring in *ahem* and let him have full reign of this thing and let *him* take "him out". "Godfather, Godfather" *bends and kisses his hand*. This is going to be good because Joonie is the brains that holds this group together. Phatgirl is going to have there back and watchingwolf is going to be posted as the lookout. This is just pure rich. You've got to read this one more time.
Katie: The statements/info you put in your last post is incorrect. It isn't necessary to purchase software to conduct a reverse search. What it takes is to be computer savvy rather than computer literate. Also, anyone who is computer savvy can conduct such searches and it isn't illegal. The internet is a public domain and accessible by all who wish to access it.
From what I've read you're computer literate but not computer savvy. If you were you could have exposed the trolls a long while ago and you wouldn't be violating any laws. It's called the internet for a reason - it isn't like snail mail which is totally private correspondence between two people, companies, etc. As I stated before, the internet and all information posted on it are the property of the public.
Hm. Not in this scenario. I know you like to think you know it all, but ya just don't this time. In *THIS* particular software - the IPs are logged and hidden. If I were to obtain them, I would have to get into the admin settings - which would technically be illegal. Such a tiny crime, but I'm no criminal. If you want to sit and play who's the better computer nerd you're on your own. That's just ignorant. If you're so convinced that you can obtain someones IP address from one of these posts then by god be my guest and say how. Cause it ain't happenin. In situations where the IP is readily avlb. yes, anyone can do a reverse search. But in this case, it's just not.
If you think that *all* information posted on the internet is public property, you are SORELY mistaken. Be very careful what information your are putzing around and gathering m'dear.
I have deeply suspicious for some time now that the Internet gets disrupted arbitrarily because of trying to intercept terrorism messages, as they use chat rooms and BBS sites to communicate. Yesterday in my part of the world everyone I know had slow log in, sites crash, it was a total mess all over a large region of Florida, and not restricted to one provider. Then it slowly cleared up. I was on the West Coast of the USA once when the entire server for that area crashed and all the geeks.com jumped off their desks to try to commit suicide. Sometimes its not what we think that's the problem, just like our health.
Katie: Anyone who is computer savvy wouldn't have any trouble tracking anything I or anyone else sends and receives. Again, the internet is public domain and once any information is posted on the internet it's open to anybody having the technical know how and wanting to obtain any information. It really isn't against the law to obtain information BUT there are laws regulating how you can use information obtained. Privacy is only ensured using the options provided via snail mail.
Information is hidden but anyone being computer savvy can obtain/access any information - hidden or not. I suspect there are members on this board who have this technical knowledge and are doing so. As for me I came to this board in search of information in my search for answers that will help me with my struggles in dealing with Arthur and His Gang and to add my experiences in dealing with Arthur and His Gang.
P.S. Though there are people who have posted annoying and irksome posts on this board they haven't posted anything which falls under the legal definition of harrassment.
IP addresses ARE NOT PUBLIC INFORMATION. If you obtain someones IP address and you are not for example, the admin of a forum or a tech support agent, then you have obtained the address illegally. There are programs out there that allow you to get peoples personal IP addresses, however they are illegal programs. In fact, the IP addresses that admins and tech agents obtain aren't even the original IPs. They're masks and sub-masks. Why? TO PROTECT THE PERSON'S IP ADDRESS. >.< I don't know how many times I'm going to have to explain this to you.
You say there are only laws against how you use information obtained, and I say that is plain ignorance. You're telling me that you can go onto Amazon.com and with the right now-how, you can obtain everyone's credit card information, AND THAT'S OKAY. As long as you don't use them. And I'm telling you from personal experience, that is soooooooooooooooooooooooooo not the case.
You're right, I *could* track you and your posts. But you would have to be online at the time. And it would be a great pain in the ass, since this is a forum that hides IPs for the admins only. And I am *not* going to crack the admin account. Do you even realize that IPs are not permanent? Don't base what you know off the Matrix. It doesn't work like that.
This is a forum for all of us suffering with one or more types of arthritis. If this were a forum dedicated to exchanging info about the ins and outs of the internet and its functions and uses I would pursue this discussion. However, there is a very real risk that posting any further info on this board could fall into the "wrong hands" and the problems that would result are endless. Take Care
Though there are those posting annoying and irksome posts I haven't and won't spend anytime in determining who they are. It's like watching paint dry - gives you something to do but what could have accomplished by pursuing other interests?
