We have discussed where flares come from but I would be interested in reading everyone's flare descriptions as well.

Being run over by a heard of elephants comes to mind

But today I feel really good with mild aches even though its freezing cold and snowy.YAY!!

Hi Bonny, I describe my "flares" as being hit by a MAC TRUCK, or the feeling you get the day after completing a hughely strenous workout. Every joint and muscle aches, and the stiffness is unbearable. It is difficult to move after being in any position for just a short time.

Hit by a Mac Truck is a great description.  Before I started biologics and dmards I would run a fever.  Now I don't since I'm immune suppressed.

I ache til I think my bones are going to snap in half from aching so bad, I'm exhausted, my active tremors in my hands are worse, I need to hang on to walls to walk thru the house, I go from typing about 60-70 words a minute to about 5 lol.  My knuckles are red on my hands and my hands are so swollen I can't close them to make a fist.  It's the fatigue that gets to me the most and I have found the hardest to recover from.

I get fatigued and feel sick.  I have a burning ache in my affected joints and SEVERE pain when I try to move the joint.  It feels like my tendons are going to literally snap in two. Thanks so much everyone.  Most of what was described is how I feel so, so tired sometimes feverish, finger joints turn red and oh the pain.  Though I do wish you all would not have flares it is somehow easier to know that is what is happening to me.

Since I have only had symptoms of RA for a month or so, I hope these are Flares and not normal swelling. Keep in mind if it is swelling, the Prednisone totally takes away 95% of my swelling

I do not have a fever or headaches but I feel a bit fatigued.

Pointer and middle finger on both hands swell. Pinky on right hand swells. Both wrists stiff/painfull when moving but no swelling. Shoulders sore, elbows hurt sometimes, knees sometimes hurt but no swelling, bottoms of my feet sore and painful when walking with light swelling, back of neck sore (I hate this the most), toes a bit sore, and jaw hurts pretty bad when eating.

 Thats about it

The only place I swell up noticeably is my fingers.
