took my first dose mtx. injection. on saturday. i have been feeling nauseated, having night sweats, achey all over. i am also on pred. pack and decresing the dose. dont know witch is causeing this? I just feel horrible, could it be because i am decreasing pred. or from the mtx? also all joints achey.
could be either or both. What dose of folic acid are you on?1mg a day of folic acid. dose that help with the nausea?the mtx did that too me when i had first started it also then it went away then eventually came back so the dr had started me on the injection form which is soposed to eliminate or at least eleviate the stomach problems. The nausea is one of those side effects most likely from the mtx even tho you are injecting it. I used to get some nausea when I first started injecting but it went away eventually. Now I am just tired the day after my shot. Just keep in mind that injecting it makes the med absorb faster and more of it is absorbed into the body.
If the nausea gets to the point where it is just extremely annoying (more annoying than nausea normally is) call your doc and see if you can get some phenegran. Phenegran will make you tired. I'm not sure if you work outside the home so I wanted to make sure you knew that so you don't zzzzzzz out at work lol.

Folic acid does help with the nausea and I take it on a daily basis. Also, a lot of ppl take their dose of MTX at bedtime to keep from having to deal with some of the side effects such as nausea.
