Hi Guys

I was diagnosed last year (26 years old) and like most others was devastated, i just thought the pains were from all the gym visits and playing football, obviously not.

Anyways when diagnosed i was pretty much bedridden and needed help to be carried to the car, i am now back playing some light hearted 5 a-side football.

I am on methotrexate 12.5mg pw however my rheumatoid factor when measured was 600 but the wierd part is that my CRP and ESR were normal and remain normal.

I stumbled across this article and thought id share it with you all. its still early days, but it sounds amazing.. heres hoping the clinical trials are successful. heres the link

Very interesting article Mushy - thanks for sharing it.  And welcome to the boards!yeah i have been keeping an eye on this for a while. it gives us hope if nothing else. I wonder if this is like that other med I read about where it wipes out the immune system.

The breakthrough for arthritis is NATURE given food - appropriate herbs and natural foods like vegetables, fruits & fish etc in daily diet

So simple, humble, natural and very effective people just dismiss and ignore.

If there is a find in med for a cure in arthritis , it has to be appropriate herbs and natural foods related

Because I found it

They are putting hopes and waiting for science miracle. Others blame on genetic problem(if there is) and the disease. They do not take time to reflect what food they eat daily that may aggrevate arthritis and would throw objections that arthritis is not related to foods. They like to equate meds for disease and hope for the best. But from time to time science and med authorities in numerous countries are placing advertisements encouraging people to eat "good" not "junk" and "bad" foods. WHY? Even some medical publications have highlighted findings that diary products are bad for arthritis!!!!  Taste bugs rule. As long as they are happy eating health issue and the rest is secondary. When pain and suffering set in -anxiety, doubt, fear, anger, helplessness etc. cross their minds

NO MIRACLE - the moon don't come to you we have to send rocket to the moon! Work for it -  there is fresh hope and solution.

I HAVE DONE IT!

Hi Mushy,

Welcome and thanks for sharing the article.

It's wonderful to hear that you're responding to MTX. Way to go!

Hi mushy

The article was interesting.welcome to the board.

Katie-

I now eat and drink minimal amounts of dairy and i can say it seems to help.

I have tried the homeopathic route, and herbalist route. the homeopathic stuff didnt work so well. but in terms of herbs and natural products im still giving that a go.

What some people have to realise is that you have to acheive a fine balance. its not to say that alternative therapies dont work, but you must prevent lasting damage on your joints and alleviate the pain as much as possible as alternatives may and most probably will take a long time to fine tune.

My philosophy is to try both and hopefully you can minimise the use of these drugs.

It is a process of awareness and learning to eat selectively.

Whatever path one chooses it has to be appropriate herbs (effective herbs) and correct natural foods. The first is to fight and tame the disease; and the later is to strike a "fine balance".

Pain and suffering can teach the patient to focus the intake of "bad"  foods, if he developes a sense of awareness. The metabolic adjustments is continuous - to reverse severity and improve health level gradually.

Good luck in your choice of treatment.

the  article  is  great  hope  they  make  this  work.

MY  doc  told  me  that  he  really thinks  rhumatoid  will be a  thing  of  the history books  some  day......  I  sure  hope  so!!

HI Mushy!

Could it be anything else other than the whey protein?  So many people I know are taking it for RA and swearing by it's results.  Or is there a possibility you have dairy allergies?  Also, what does homeopathic mean to you.  People say that all the time and I don't really know what it means.

Koko -

It sounds like you, me and Mushy are on the same wavelenght.  It's so hard to figure out what works for who.  Do you (or anybody) know anything about metabolic typing?  I'm interested in why so many people swear by different diets.  There has to be some sort of 'trigger' for want of a better word.  Some swear by low fat; others by high protein, others by vegan, others by no gluten.  It must be really hard figuring out which will work for a person.

Mark -

Amen brother!
