TENS Machine | Arthritis Information

Hi everybody,

I tried a TENS (trancutaneous electrical nerve stimulation) machine at PT and my therapist said that I could rent one for long term. I was just wondering your feed back on if you think this machine helps and your experiences with it. I was looking a renting one and then possibly buying it if it actually works. It is apparently supposed to stimulate the body to release endorphins and block the pain receptors. Interesting stuff, just wondering what you guys have to say.

I love mine!  I can wear it if I need to go out also.  I think renting first is a good idea.  I borrowed my neighbors TENS unit prior to buying one and my insurance did reimburse a little of the cost. Are they expensive, and how does it work, I read something about it in the paper last week.  ThanksI love my TENS. It was definitely worth what I paid for it. It cost me about 0. You do want to try different models though. The first one I tried was not comfortable at all. The PT said that this was pretty typical. So I did a google search. HAH. They're everywhere. I wanna get one on my own now.......but I want one that's small enough I can stick it in my pocket or something, so I can use it at work, and when I'm out....... I love my tens machine, it has lots of different settings but be careful dont touch the pads with your finger tips when its on

Pin Cushion is correct, watch the fingers and don't try to keep using the patches after they are worn, ouch....
