Ok so i smuggled in a large tub of ben and jerrys into the cinema yesterday as the cinema portions are minuscule. my girlfriend is on a diet so i ended up eating the large part of half a litre of ice cream.
This morning i woke up, and im aching all over, so i think i am somewhat lactose intolerant. i think ive known that for a while i.e. porridge sometimes sends me running (without filling you in with the details), and more to the point it wreaks havoc with my joints too. there must be a link between your diet and your condition in my view.
Greasy processed foods and dairy makes my joints feel worse.
What are others view on this, are there any particular foods which make u feel worse?
MMmmmm Ben and Jerry's. Sorry, I'm on pred lol. I haven't had that experience with food, but I have had it with any kind of alcohol. And it isn't because I drank too much of it lol. So shush Katie. And Karen. And June. LOL! If I have one wine cooler or even one mixed drink, I start aching about an hour later and it lasts for probably about 24 hours.
Different foods can affect your body. If you have a food allergy to something (like the lactose intolerance) I would think that your immune system would kick in and try to fight off that allergy. And since RA is an auto immune disease anything you put in your body that you might be sensitive to or allergic to could possibly trigger some inflammation.
I've never noticed a connection between joint pain and my diet..and believe me I tried like the dickens to find oneSame here. I deleted things for a while then added them back with no change.do you guys beleive the infection connection theory?I have been on AP (antibiotic protocol) for 6 months and still awaiting results but do know that it can take a long time.Certain foods can affect you definately!! foods can weaken or intensify your meds. For example you are not suppose to drink grapefruit juice after taking cold medications because it will cause the meds to intensify their properties which in turn can make you gravely ill. People with hypothyroidism, which is quite a few of us here, have quite the list of foods to avoid including peanuts, tofu, and soy. there are books at the library that you can get to read up on this and they even tell you how to find out what you could be allergic to. alot of us are gluten intolerant and we don't even know it. meme Argh...I WISH I could find obvious trigger foods so I could avoid them----I know some people have them. So I went on a 3 week detox diet and I felt great! So great I might stay on it forever, but it eliminates a lot of foods so it's tricky to eat out and at dinner parties and stuff. I believe in the infection theory more than I believe in the autoimmune theory, and I've been on AP for about 4 weeks. I have to say I've been feeling amazimg----I have days where I don't even know I have RA. But I don't know if that's because of AP (which if it is it worked really fast!), the mtx and plaquenil I'm still on, the detox diet, or the latge quantities of fish body oil I consume. I guess I'll find out as I start eliminating things like mtx. One thing about AP is that if you're prone to yeast overgrowth like me yeast and probiotic management becomes a big deal. I was fine on the detox diet but last weekend I ate a bunch of sugar and now I'm a Yeastie Girl, all right! I have real specific triggers. I can't drink (cripes can I say the name?, that tomato/vegetable drink) the dr. said it was probably the glutens? they use to thicken it.Once the body is imbalance, certain foods like citrus fruits, deep fried/oily stuffs, high protein and slow digestive foods are allegic to most sufferers.
It is always a learning process to develope consciouness and awareness.
That is how I overcome arthritis with herbs and natural foods. Besides, I stay healthy without MEDS
