Sun sensitivity? Hi Jenna. I have read that it makes you more sensitive to the sun but I spend a lot of time outside and I have not had that problem. It probably has a lot to do with how sensitive you are in the first place. I personally like to be tan because I think the mtx turns my skin gray........ for a couple days after. Wierd huh? I hate LOOKING sick!Jenna, I KNOW its sulfasalizine that give you major sun sensitivity, but i havent had trouble with MTX yet... Just my 2 cents Thats good news! I so can't wait to go away! Cyprus is supposed to be sizzling right now. My ideal holiday is all inclusive drinks and food whenever, a nice beach, a pool and hot hot hot weather. I wake up lay by the pool all day, then go out for a lovely meal of an evening then sleep! Luxury! I love getting a tan! Pity it goes within a week of arriving back home. x Unicorn's definately right about the sulfersalazine...I learned that the hard way years ago; ouch!! I haven't noticed it too much with MTX though....and I'm hoping we're right because I'm planning to do exactly like you Jenna in Mexico in about 3 weeks. Keep your fingers crossed that a nasty burn doesn't ruin our week!! (I'll still do some sunblock to be on the safe side...I'll still tan) I was in Mexico last summer. It's just fantastic there. Have you been before? I would love to go. Warning you now though that it is incredibly hot so oil up lots. My brother is out there now on a boozy lads holiday, he says that the weather is amazing xHey xjennax, Just reading your post about your awesome vacation.!! My most favorate thing to do is to
lay out in the sun, by the pool or beach letting the sun soak into every part of my body. And get tan, tan, tan, Course I was only able to do that in Las Vegas, but not too much in San Francisco. I really haven't ever gone on a vacation other than my x and I would go to southern utah and stay at a nice hotel. But anyway, mymost desired vacation would be somewhere tropical, with a pool and beach and a cool drink in my hand!
So now, all that said, I don't know about the mtx and sun sensitivity. I did go to the tanning booth last week and didn't seem to have any problems. Hope you have an *****AWESOME***** time. Blessings, Tara L Yes these meds make you more sensitive to the sun, this does include mtx, you need to wear sunblock and limit your time in the sun. I have purchased clothing with spf 50 in the clothing, when you wash it it doesn't come out. They work great!!! Please make sure to wear a hat and sunglasses too. Enjoy the sun, just don't over do it. meme ps if you want to look like a bronze sun godess check out loreal's new line of sublime bronze, you apply just by spraying it on you don't have to spread it out it is formualted to go on evenly. It looks great!!! No orange tones. Great information Meme. Thanks. I'm one of those redheads that burn, no tan after sun exposure. OK, I used to be a redhead when younger, now I've got a lot of white mixed in everywhere. I'm going to try out this new tan in a spray can. Barb Thanks for the advice. Meme I will certainly be out searching for that product in the shops tomorrow. I went to Wimbledon to watch the tennis last week and come back pretty red. It was a very hot day (well very hot for England) and I hadn't oiled up for an hour or so but I definatly caught it much quicker than I usual do. Thankfully it's died down now and gone brown. I'll be taking my factor 50 though and regularly gettin in and out of the pool to cool down and have breaks from the sun. Ohhhhhhhhhhh can't wait! |
