thank you to anyone who can help.

hope all is well...

Sorry to hear you've had such a difficult couple of months.

At the onset of my RA, I had daily low-grade (and sometimes full-fledged) fevers that lasted 8 months.  In February, they stopped abruptly after a few weeks of Enbrel, but now seem to be returning.  I'm not sure if it's directly correlated to the amount of inflammation I have or not.  Sorry I can't be of more help.

If they're really uncomfortable, you can always take tylenol.  I asked my rheumy why I would do that if I'm already on all these mega-drugs, and he said sometimes something different, or even a little boost of the same, can help.  For the most part, I think I'm getting used to the temperature fluctuations, although they do take a toll on me.

What medications are you trying to decide on?

Sorry I don't have much info about fevers. I never run a fever.....even when I've had serious infections. My doctor feels like my medications seem to supress them. Who knows; I'm kind of weird.

Welcome to AI!

i am going to start mtx as soon as i get the guts. i am very afraid of side effects, as dr tells me that i am more prone to them due to a blood disorder mthfr. so as of now just the plaquenill.

If you read some post here you'll find that just about everyone of us that take MTX went through the very same fears.....and the majority of us only regret waiting.

Hope things work out for you soon. Stick around; you'll find this place to be very helpful.

I don't know much about early RA because I had so much fatigue I slept through mine.

Dear cmcg, What a long time to have this 'fever' , It would be good to contact the doc as everything we experience adds up to some information that helps them treat us. As you say you've been taking plaquenil for some time, so that may contribute. Oh this is so complex, good luck sorting it all out. Try to trust the doctor....

I ran a late afternoon, early evening fever that kept getting worse for several months. It turned out to be a drug fever from azulfadine, a drug that I had taken for several years. I diagnosed it myself when I wrote down the times when I went into the hospital and they stopped the drugs, then I got out and started it again. I showed it to my doc and he agreed. stopped azulfadine and that wa the end of it. Also the end of my IBS!
