having inadvertably over used tylenol i went into severe liver failure. was given iv steroids, plasma etc etc and in the 2 weeks in hospital gained 43 lbs of fluid from prednisone and other steroids. now home, on the mend, lasix took off most fluids but my question is, now that all predisone and steroids are stopped,, after a total usage time of 6 weeks,how long before last of fluids drop?
Dear dabs, do you still take the Lasix? I've been taking it since November? It helps with the prednisone fluid build up!!

............were you given any thing to help reduce the fluid build up, I ca not imagine having that much ffluid Oh how awful for you, I had 11 pounds of fluid weight on me last summer, and it was horrible, but since then I take a med called........(have to go get it).ok its called
hydrochloorothiazide.......also helps with high blood pressure. hth some.
Dabs, How did you get that problem from tyelnol. Oh god I take so much of it for years. That is scary to me. I take hydrcone/tyelnol and then I take excredin that has aspin and tyelnol. So what did you take just tyelnol. Joani've gained 40 lbs from predisone, i've been on it for over a year and just recently i've dropped from 60 mg to 30 mg and i take lasix but i still ahve the weight :( so i guess it'll take a while for the extra weight to go... i mean, even though i'm still on it, cutting it in half hasn't provided any relief from the massive weight gain :( but good luck my friend. sorry this comment isn't very helpfulI'm on that HCG water pill for my BP and if I have any water retention from the prednisone it doesn't do a thing for it.
