Usually I don't let people's unkind comments get to me, but today a comment by a neighbor and his actions really pissed me off and frightened me terribly!!!!!
I'm so sorry about what happened! I would have been crying long before you. You have been assaulted. Actually, assault and battery. You can and should file charges against him. If the police have already done so, you may have to testify. So might your hero. The thing that concerns me most, though, is that when the jerk get out of jail tomorrow, you'll have not only a drunk jerk, but an angry drunk jerk on your hands. Please consider getting an order of protection against him. Soon! Meme, OMG Sara is right you need a restraining order ASAP. I am so sorry for you and so sorry that Rachel witnessed this. I do law enforcement as a ranger and I guarantee you you can file assault and battery charges. You may be able to sue the jerk. Don't be afraid of him. See if you can get in touch with a local Disability Advocacy group to help you. Guys like this need a lesson and the publicity would be good for all of us. I am so sorry Meme. Personally I think you handled the situation well. Had it been me I would have gotten off the ground and beat the crap out him with the chair!!!!!! Meme, that sounds like such a nightmare.....I'm so sorry that happened to you. Watch out for this guy he sounds like a real nut. Do get a protection order but remember it's only a piece of paper.. if your police department is as short staffed as ours anything could happen before they get there. Thank you for your kind words folks, I just got home from the hospital. It seems that I went to sit down for awhile this evening and then when I got up I couldn't straighten out, so Vic took me to the er and they said my tail bone is fractured and I have a bruise the size of a large watermelon. Though I am not on mtx right now I still am on enbrel so they were concern about infection so I was given an antibiotic to take for the week and was told to take it easy and absolutely NO STRESS!!! Anymore symptoms or problems I am to go back to the hospital, I am less then 3 minutes away, so I asked I be allowed to go home because Rachel is traumatized enough, she needs her mama home. My middle sister works for the da and the county, Vic called her and told her what was going on they have issued a restraining order against the neighbor. They are concern that he will go after the neighbor who stepped in and tried to get him away from me too. The guy is being held for at 72 hrs, his landlord has already informed us that as far as he is concerned this guy has broken his lease by posing to be a threat to the neighborhood. After he is out of jail he has 2 weeks to pack and move. He can not come anywhere near me and Vic is seeing about having Rachel and me go up to his sister's , up north, till this jerk has moved out. I am not worried about this guy coming near me, I can defend myself, I have six brothers and one of them is a prison gaurd and he taught both my sisters and me how to defend ourselves . My sisters told me I should have him at the house when this jerk comes back to the apartment, my brother, the prison gaurd is 6'6" and with all his equipment on he weighs 280. The prison that he works at all the prisoners are afraid of him and they do what they are told and don't give him an ounce of grief. Besides worse come to worse I will just have all the brothers come over, all of them are over six feet tall and they can be quite intimidating. I am doing ok and I am going to try and rest. We have company coming sunday and we are going to have a good old bbq and then watch the grand finale frieworks here in town. Take care everyone and

I'm sorry to hear about your tailbone fracture. I hope it heals quickly, that has to really hurt. Sometimes it really pays to have good sized brothers. One look at that bunch would have that drunken idiot packing too leave town in a hurry. Of course you probably didn't feel that way about your 6 brothers when you were growing up.

Shawnie I too take my hat off to the mother. It sounds like her son is in for some tough-love from his family. It has to be incredibly difficult to be the parent of a child like him. You raise them the best you can and hope for the best. Meme, I know people have used a donut cushion to sit on with a broken tailbone. If you have trouble sitting, its a thought. Enjoy your holiday. I'm so sorry to hear about your "worse than rough time" with the neighbor. I am truly chicken little so I would have totally fallen apart. I'm glad he is moving and I'm really sorry for his mother. If she has been honest with you, it must be really hard for her. I think our kids can be really hard breakers especially if you are a good person trying to raise good kids and it just doesn't happen. I hope you feel better soon. I broke my tail bone years ago and it took about a month or longer before I started to feel somewhat normal. That is one painful injury. Take care and stay safe! used to be the day receiver for local vendors when i worked at wally
world. some of the vendors were awesome. others, i wanted to
throw out of the store. i did politely tell one to leave as he
was calling me names. found out later my manager heard him and how i
reacted and called his boss and almost got him fired. Wow! What a story. Totally didn't expect this thread to be about violence against one of our peeps. What a monster. I'd like to beat him with a chair! Glad to hear you are doing better Meme and that he'll be sitting in jail for a while.
I'm curious...did they give a timeframe on healing for the tail
bone? I'm mainly curious as one rhuemy told me mine was fractured
and when I asked how it happened, he blamed it on a fall. I'd not
fallen for years and it was new pain. So, looking back, I wonder if
that was more to do with osteoporosis than a fall. But, he said
it could heal fast or something else that I can't remember how
long. It didn't heal fast, so I'm wondering if they gave you a
time frame.

While we're at it, I think we should send our sympathy to the mother of the jerk. It took a lot of integrity for her to knock on your door and apologize. And her honesty in telling you it wasn't the first time he'd done this is pretty impressive. She could have just moved him out and slithered away. She's got to be in a lot of emotional pain herself...You are so right Sara. That did take guts and humility. No many people would have been that brave. Too bad her son is a monster.
