the day after my mtx. shot i was feeling little pain ,no fatiuge. and now the second day after i feel worse than before the shot! :(  My head feels heavy, my fingers are swollen. and every joint hurts. even my spine! Yesterday i told my 9 year old daughter i would bring her shopping for summer clothes. she is so exited. and so was i, cause i was feeling great. now today, i feel as though i was hit by a truck! it feels like my head is burning up. but no fever. anyone else have that affect after the mtx. shot? also my head feels heavy, but i am going shopping nayway. i cant let her down. I think i am going to start a journal writting down how i feel everyday to see if this mtx. is helping or making things worse.

I don't take MTX shots, but the day after I take the pills, I zone out. I get so tired, I can barely keep my head up - I usually plan a nap that day. MTX is not going to make you feel better right away, the way some people feel after Humira or Enbrel. It took me 4 months to gradually recover - but it will come. Have patience and faith!!!! Good luck, anewbie - it will get better.

The same here on the day after Enbrel and MTX.  I get the hot head feeling with no fever also.  I always clear the two days after taking my meds and by the third day I get the results.

Take care.

Yes, MTX can make you feel tired (I drink coffee w/caffeine), and sorta strange (hard to put into words) I must take it though as I want to get off of this( prednisone!! down from 3 to 2 1/2 today, gradually getting it down.) 6x2.5 of MTX...I tis worth waiting for....try to hang in there....good luck.

The MTX will definitely wipe you out the next day. I got to where I took it Saturday nights and didn't make any definite plans for Saturday evening or Sunday. We tried to do things like shopping on Saturday mornings.

You'll get to know what your reaction time frame is. Sometimes you just have to postpone the fun activities for another day. Unfortunately, that's what RA is like for a lot of people. You have to deal with it and your daughter is going to have learn to also. You can still take her shopping but it is going to be a lot more fun if you are feeling better. Life is full of adjustments. She might as well learn that now.  It's not a broken promise, just a delayed one.
