We have Whooping Caugh in our area, should I have the vaccine if I can get it? Mixing MTX, Remicade and prednisone????

I would call and ask your Dr. I do know that you cannot have any live vaccine while on these meds. Call your doc but the general rule of thumb is no live vaccines while on the meds that you are on. My doc says 'killed' vacines are ok. He cautions that since our immune systems are suppressed we might not develope the anti-bodies the vaccine is trying to get us to produce.Oh interesting, I had flu vaccine in November.....
My doc just said I should avoid small children, take the vaccine when I have my next tetinis shot (5 years!)
