So whatcha gonna do for Easter?

Me, I am not sure... I know we are going to church where FIL preaches, and after that no one has said anything. My mom did ask if we were going to go to one of my nieces, for the egg hunt, but I am not sure if I am up to the hour drive and all. I know crappy excuse, but ya know... they never come visit me. I bet this summer when they find out we moved up to the house and the pool is now "ours" that they will want to come visit and go swimming. How much ya wanna bet?

Well, it's just me and hubby, and Mom and Dad.  My sister and her fiance just moved to OH so they won't be around.  My stepkids are too busy to see us (this has been going on for awhile). And we don't see extended family until we get together the week after Easter.

Usually my mother cooks, but we're all tired and she's cooking the big dinner the following week, so we're going out to Easter dinner for the first time.  We're going to Maggiano's and having the family-style dinner, so food should be good!

Joonie you will have friends you haven't seen in eons coming out of the wood work wanting to try out the ole' poolster. LOL

I am planning on going to church. I love Easter Sunday! There are a few kids getting baptized. My little sis is coming out to go with us and then we will probably make a small meal involving a big ham and then I will probably take a nap.

Thanks for reminding me. I gotta get some shopping done. Ewwww!

It will just be me, Danny, and the girls for Easter.  We did Easter with our oldest daughter and gbaby early since they live out of state.  This year they are staying in IL for Easter.  So we colored eggs, did an egg hunt with the gbaby, made cookies, had roasted chicken with high roasted potatoes etc for lunch.  My 14 year old made the entire lunch spread and it was superb!  That kid can cook!!!  We are doing something a little different this year for Easter dinner.  She has decided to make chicken a la king for Easter dinner and a couple of other things that she says is a surprise.  I loooooooooooooove that she cooks and bakes and has this natural talent for it.  I hardly cook anymore.  Tonight she is making a marinaded cube steak.

Our oldest DD is a good cook, but she's away at college, you only have a couple more years to enjoy yours doing the cooking. I hate cooking, it's been "my job" since DH and I got together, although he will make casadillas(sp?)if I can't cook. They had them for 2 months when I had my flare. We're going to a potluck brunch for Easter, I'm taking a fruit platter and deviled eggs.
DeidreWe are going to have a restful easter weekend. The sun is going to be shining so I am going to sit out on the deck and enjoy the family being around.I really miss the kids being little and the egg hunt in the garden.Hubby is going to cook lamb on the spit and I have my mum coming down for dinner on sunday ( the memory loss is getting a bit worse-Still no diagnosis) We are going for a trip to the coast on Friday.Yay!!! I dont care if every joint in my body swells up I am still going

I really don't mind cooking holiday meals, they are actually pretty easy, except if I get really fussy with desserts and stuff.  I will probably keep it pretty simple this year (famous last words).

I'm still grieving the fact my boys don't want to color eggs anymore (they're 21 and 17, LOL).  But I'll bet they're still expecting a basket filled with candy and stuff.  Something tells me that will always be true as long as they are living at home.

OMG!! Hillhoney!! You are going to eat the Lamb of God on Easter!!!

Ok... I am sorry... I have been thinking about that since I found daughters little stuffed animal she won when she was going to the christian acadamy... it was a white lamb that said "I am a Lamb of God."

How you gonna do a happy dance with one leg Karen?

HAHAHAHAHAA

One leg of lamb?! Happy dance with a leg of lamb.... now that is sight to see.

BTW... my daughters Lamb of God lamb she won... she accidentally ripped it's legs off... so you can have a leg of lamb LMAO!! My girls still expect Easter baskets too lol.  Candy and the whole shot.  No lamb here tho.  No one likes it so any Lambs of God will be safe at my house lol.  No no, I'm talking about KAREN dancing on one leg......

She'll get it. And everyone else that fell for the joke....
Its gonna be a quiet easter around here. Kelsay is leaving Friday to go to Ohio on an airplane with my dad to visit my grandparents for Easter.  So we will just go to church like normal then over to my moms since she got nominated from my grandma this year to have easter.  So it will be quiet !!!Katie I knew what you were talking about, I read her April's Fools day post where she got you GOOD! I just had the vision of her dancing with a lamb leg in her hand LMAO! DO not ask why... I just did. Might be from lack of sleep?! Or .... just my normal mental problems

I better make a list and ck it twice. Wait wrong holiday....lol

LOL this holiday is kitty-cottontail hopping down the kitty litter trail... hippidy hop Easter is on its way....

WooooHooooo

I like to extra candy for the Easter bunny to eat.

Hey - my one legged dance gives a whole new meaning to Hip HOP dancing!

Well no lamb of God here this year.  They voted -2 hams and 1 lamb, so ham it is.  And I was informed it has to have the pineapple rings and maraschino cherries on it too, LOL!

CinDee I know what you mean.  It's really funny in this house - the Easter bunny always brings HER favorite kinds of candy!  Sly Easter Bunny, I think I am going to grammaskittles house!!  Whats the address again??? Do you celebrate Good Friday too? Just with Micheleb saying she is going into the office I wondered. UK bussiness close today for the easter weekend and go back Tuesday. Here in the US, a lot of places close early for Good Friday but not everyone and most of us have to be back to work Monday.

*sigh*

I need kids. LOL I have no reason to do anything special on Easter. I'll be working, as usual. Bleh. Everyone think of me while you're watching the little ones hunt for eggs.
