Heat in joints... | Arthritis Information

Wondered if anyone else has felt heat in their joints? Not to touch but feeling it inside.

Still waiting on May to come for my 1st appt with RD. Still have the achey flu like symptoms and being tired all the time. I do have some Prednisone I can take, but don't want to unless it gets really bad. I would like to have the symptoms active for my 1st appt.

Also, can anyone with RA in the neck describe to me their symptoms and where exactly it is in the neck? I ask because I had c-7 fused this time last year and my neck has ached on and off every since.

Thank you!!

No, I do not feel heat in my joints, but my joints are warm or really warm to the touch, just depends on how much inflammation is in them. My knees get really warm to the touch when they are flaring.

I do get a burn sensation in my shoulder blades when I move my arms too much... like if I wash dishes, by about the 5th or 6th item I wash I get this feeling like my shoulder blades are on fire and then I have to stop because the burn increases if I do not stop and it will last for about 1-3 hours the burn that is.

I have been folding clothes off and on for about an hour now and I am starting to get the burning sensation in my right shoulder blade. *shurgs* I do not know what it is from... always seem to forget to tell my RD about when I see him.

I get heat in my joints. Not to touch from the outside but it feels as if I'm boiling hot on the inside. It makes me very uncomfortable and using ice doesnt help because the outside of the joint isnt hot. My knees are the worse.

Sorry you dont feel any better but May isnt too far off now

I don't feel the heat in my joints as much as I do from touching on the outside.  I can't really tell but my RD always tells me that my joints are "very warm."

I was having neck pain for about 2 years that would come and go and really limit my range of motion for my head.  It went from 1 side of my neck to 1 side and at it's worst, shot about halfway up the back of my head.  I could not turn my head and hold it there for over, maybe, 3-4 minutes.

My Rheumy told me 2 years ago to get it fixed or if I was hit from behind, I could be paralyzed like Chris Reeve.  I went to the neurologist and sure enough, my spinal cord was being compressed.

At the end of Jan. I had C-1 and 2 fused and it has stopped the neck pain and actually allowed me to gain a little strength due to the relief of pressure on my spinal cord.  My neck is still a little stiff from being in a C collar for 8 weeks, but at least the old pain is gone!
