I am still struggling with over eating. I'm down to 2-1/2 preds, but I'm still starving all the time!! I'm sure I'm not hungry but I still pig out on those sugary cereals. (Cookie crispies....jsut like little cookies/candies). my husband brought home ice cream last night and I ate 'the whole carton'! What is this? Does anyone know why Preds make you so hungry 'feeling' even when you've just eaten?

Gee I wish I knew!!! It is one of the side effects though, a craving for sugary high carb foods!! I have been taking it for 4 years and wish I had a solution, I know my body wishes it too!! I have put on soooo many pounds, I keep thinking it is water weight. LOL!!I'm like that on Predisone also! Hungry as a horse.
Luckily for me I never was put on long term predisone so I didn't have to through too much of it; but over the last few years I've gone through menopause and I've gained a lot of weight! I really eat more; so I can't say the pounds are coming out of no where, but I'm always hungry.
It wasn't like that for me before menopause though. RA has always left me rather thin and unhealthy. Although I've gained a good bit; I feel better than I have in a long time. My RA's been under control for a couple of years now though, so that too adds to a happy weight for me.
It could have been the humira for me though too. I don't know. Between the HRT, MTX, Humira and menopause I can't really point my finger on where the pounds are coming from.
Not totally related....but I can relate.
