Humira, Enbrel or Remic ade | Arthritis Information

Has anyone been on Enbrel, then Humira, and then Remicade?  (Or any of these in different order?)  I started out on Enbrel--it only helped me for a few months, and then I switched to Humira.  I've been on Humira weekly for about nine months, but it seems to have stopped  working, as I have been battling a vicious flare for the past four weeks.  My dr. wants to try Remicade, but I am a little hesitant, although I am getting desperate.  My TMJ is really bad, as are my hands, and that is with prednisone, mobic, mtx and Humira.  I would love to hear from those of you who have used Remicade.  Thanks for any advice!

I'm interested in this topic as well. I've been on Humira since December, and changed to weekly doses in May. I'm curious as to what's next for me as well.

Although I'm doing fairly well on the weekly doses I'm afraid that will be short lived.

Jeanne,
You sound just like me. I was on Enbrel for about 18 months when I had to stop do to a potential side effect. After a detour with Rituxan I took Humira for about 10 months (when it lost it's effectiveness). I am now on Remicade (for the last 3 months) with mixed results. We'll see.

Hi,

I was on  Enbrel first. It worked exactly twice. After  4 months they put me on Humira. I've had 3 pretty good responses, but I'm not all that impressed. We are considering either going to weekly doses, or on to Remicade.

I am hoping something works well.

Howdy,

I have taken all three.  I used enbrel for a year and then went into remission and stoped taking it.  It was good for me, not dificult to inject and I did not mave problems with side effects.  After my last flare I was put on humira, it did nothing for me and I came to dread it, I can't speak for anyone else but that stuff burned like

Robin

I've always thought it burns too (Humira). It has helped me, but I had to increase to weekly doses and I don't think it works as well as it use to. I figure I'll have to change eventually too....and I'll hope for remicaide for the exact same reasons you mentioned!! I hate the shots period, and although I've done it once myself, my husband still does them for me

Lovie,

I just started on Humira today and I knew already that the injection can be painful, so I injected the solution ver-r-r-r-ry slowly and if it started to hurt I stopped for a few seconds and then resumed injecting slowly. That worked great for me. No pain. Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't like shots either.
