Hey everyone. I'm new here. I've been diagnosed with JRA when I was 3. I'm 18 now and still living with it. It gets better and worse at times and I take 1 day at a time. I am very fortunate to be as well as I am. I'm glad I found this board.

Hey Ashlea; We're glad you found us too.

Although you are younger than most of our members; you have long term experience that will benifit us all, no doubt.

I'm 34; diagnosised with RA 11 years ago. I too feel I'm one of the fortunate ones to still work full time and function as well as I do. Obviously some days are better than others and I by no means do it alone. I take MTX and Humira and manage better now than I have in many years. What medications do you take? If any.

I saw your other post about the bumps on your feet...but came here to see if you'd posted an introduction. I'm glad to see you did. I can't be much help with that. Could it be nodules? I have some small ones between my fingers that I plan to ask my RD about toward the end of the month, they aren't painful but I've just recently noticed them.

Anyway...Welcome to the group Ashlea. I'll look forward to getting to know you better. Hope to see....and hear a lot more from you.

Lovie

Thanks for the welcome. I haven taken many medications...Naprosyn, Methotrexate, and others I can't remember. I haven't heard of many of the new medicines out there. I'm not really taking anything right now because I've not been to a rheumatologist yet. I'm too old to go to my JRA Dr. so I'm in the process of looking for one with a good reputation. As for the bumps on my feet, I work in an orthopaedic surgeon's office and have an appt w/ him. He said it was probably RA related but hopefully not plantar warts. Maybe he can make a good referral to a rheumatologist.

I sure hope so.

Best of luck with your appointment Ashlea. And again, welcome to the group. Hope to see more of you here.

Welcome Ashlea. I have had RA since 1981, this makes me one of the old foggies here. We have people here in a wide range of ages. Its great to see another young adult here. Hopefully the Orthopedic surgeon can refer you to a good Rheum... Thats how I found the one I go to. Good luck and be sure and join in the postings.

You'll find this is a great place for support.

Hi, My name is Sarah. I was surfing the web and found this site. It's nice to know I'm not alone. I'm 18 years old and about 4 years ago all my health problems started. When I was real young I had jaundice and other little health problems. Then at 12 or so I got diagnosed with a heart murmur and a stomach ulcer. Then by 14 I got diagnosed and put on medication for High Blood Pressure. Then I got diagnosed with Raynaud's Phenomonon or however you spell that, then after was connective tissue disease, fibermyalgea, carpel tunel in my right hand, and then I was diagnosed as bypolar and depression but only later to find out after 2 years of many medications that i was never depressed or had bypolar i was misdiagnosed and the after affects left me with tarcartia and a paranoya of any pills. I'm still being tested to this day to see what is causing all my illness at such a young age but they still are drawing a blank. I'm glad to find this site and know I'm not alone.

Hi Sarah,

I'm glad you found us too!

Hope to get to know you better!!

Sarah
