Watchingwolf, you wanted to know why your friends are being hasseled for constantly bombarding this site with their advertisements. It's been shown before watchingwolf, I think you are just selective about what you see and hear. Here is your posted question and opinion concerning your friends constant advertising on this once excellant arthritis site:

Watchingwolf, do you see the advertisements to the left of this post? Do you see the ads between the posts of this thread? Do you think they are free ads? They aren't. They have to pay to advertise here. Let me ask you a hypothetical. Let's say you own a hat store. All the hats in your store are . Now, let's say that you, the owner is in the back room doing some inventory. You have a bell on your desk with a note that says if you would like to purchase a hat, just ring the bell. Now, enters Grungy and a couple of her co-horts into your hat shop. Well, they don't see anyone around so they figure it is okay to help themselves to some free hats. They grab a few hats and Grungy and her friends leave. They continue to do the same thing every single day only now they bring the whole group and soon they have enough hats to open their own hat shop. You need to have more business so you pay 0 for an ad in the local paper for a sale on Saturday. On Saturday, Grungy and friends show up at your store and hand out ads to your customers and tells your customers that your product is inferior to yours and they have better prices. Nothing wrong with the picture so far, right Watchingwolf? Look at this Watchingwolf:

So what do you think the above ad means? Does it mean that to advertise at the AIforum you have to sign up and pay? Of course it does. You seem to have the same mentallity as these advertising thieves have. The owner is in the back room so therefore it is okay to steal? Am I understanding you correctly? The above ad shows you that advertising must be approved and paid for, right? Or, have you found it to mean only certain people or groups? I am looking so forward to your answer. Why is it you think that your friends should be able to advertise for free here but your friends don't allow it at their site? Remember this?

Here is the link to the new RAsushi board....this is a moderated site so spammers and advertisers need not waste their time.

This is a RA site for people with RA, who think they might have RA, know someone with RA, or want to learn more about RA...by people who are already living with it.

Okay..at the risk of upsetting a few peeps here I am going to "name drop" just becuse I am not the expert on this, but I know where you can get some good advice. Check out www.rasushi.org and go to the "Love in an elevator section". There are threads posted on this topic, and there are a few married men with RA that post and reply regularly on the topic. One of them also has his wife post from time to time and they are great on this topic.

Hope this helps, sorry I didnt have more direct info for you.

Hi Starry welcome to the board.  RA and intimacy is a huge issue for couples.  Not like it isnt for people without RA and now lets throw in this nasty disease. 

I am the one with RA in my family and my husband and I have been thru some intimacy issues.  The best thing I can tell you is to always have open honest conversations about it.  It would be more helpful for me to help you out if you let me know what kind of intimacy issues.  You do not have to publicly post them.  Send me a PM if you are more comfy that way.  I have done a lot of research and some writing about RA and intimacy issues.  I have been married for 15 years and it is still a huge part of our lives and I want to keep it that way. 

What you and your husband are experiencing is very normal for couples that are dealing with RA.  Send me a PM and I will be glad to help you out the best I can and talk with you about this. 

So what do you say Watchingwolf, is that what you want this site to become? These same people are ruining this wonderful site and chasing so many people away. Their site doesn't work. There is no arthritis information at their site. They have now taken over this site and turned it into their site, nothing more than an aol chatroom. Nothing about arthritis, nothing. Joonie is a moderator there the only problem is there is no one there to moderate so she comes here and trys to be a moderator. She "wishes she were an oscar meyer wiener", that is what their site is all about. Look at the sushi members clapping and slapping her on the back over such wise information. Ghost Hunter, don't apologize, you are right on the money. Look at this board. One new member said she was concerned about writing about on topic because no one would answer. Look what they have done to this excellant site. They don't care about chasing away people. They want this site to bust, just like their site. So Watchingwolf, look left, see all those ads? They were paid for. Do you think that your friends or anybody should be able to advertise here for free? On average the rasushi posts 40 ads per day on this site. That is why there is no more arthritis information, they just keep it running, an aol chatroom advertisement. They talk garbage, nothing about arthritis, just to keep posting the rasushi site address. They have no scruples. They have been shown numerous times the link for advertising here. The worst part about it is that they are ruining this excellant arthritis information site by posting the same garbage you can find at there site. I mean really don't you all want to be an oscar meyer weiner? Surely you didn't come to this site for arthritis information. Anywy wolf, I certainly look forward to your answer to this insight you were given. If I seem a little down on you it is because you have been pretty biased in your past postings. Surprise me.

ok...I'll give u my thoughts on you're scenario of the hat store.  If the hat shop owner is in the backroom every single day with noone IN the store waiting on customers, then the owner isn't very smart and shouldn't be in the business.  Kinda like whoever owns this site.  If he wanted to make sure whatever business he has here is running properly, then he should be watching/policing what goes on.  I really don't think that's our job.  And even if you think it is...well...see what happens when you email and voice your concerns.well said kelstev!

No one is stealing free advertising.  When people are invited to visit the sushi site, it is no different than them being invited to the roadback.org site which has been promoted here often as well.  There is no money to be gained by any of us, no one is selling anything.  It is simply sharing knowledge, and offering an open invitation to everyone.  We have been honest from the start and have never chosen to hide behind false names.  We are what we are - members of multiple sites, who like to talk with others and discuss a wide variety of topics.

Just let it go.  I'm not here to personally bash you and do not wish to fuel any fire.  But you have served no greater good by these inflammatory threads you continue to create.  No one was burying anything - we are just trying to ignore you and go on. 

Can we please call a truce and agree to disagree?

Oh Joy... my name has been mentioned yet again.

I mean I have a lot of time to twidle my thumbs ok..ok... I cannot twidle my thumbs for real... but I do have a lot of time I can waste while recouping for tending to my son, and I sure in the heck do not have as much time as it takes for MODR8R  to post all these ancient already archived posts. I mean he must really be some be lonely and needing a friend or 22. And to keep saying someone is stealing by posting a link to yet another informational message board, or even a board where we can stray off topic and not be seen as not taking our serious disease serious enough, is just stupid.

I do not post over here because MODR8R thinks I am starving for attention. I post over here because I care about so many that are over here that are not on Sushi. It is not like I am going around posting a daily schedule of what I done for everyday of the week. I just post what I feel I want to share and to help brighten someone's day.

If you, MODR8R, has a problem with that, then why not help brighten the members of this board's day with something good and not this darn rubbish you keep harping on.

People in pain, suffering, and stressed need something to help them cope, even if it is my "air filled" posts. If you do not get a distruption every now & then while learning about this disease you will literally have a lot of "What If's" because people tend to only post about the bad, and not the good, so it kinda shows that everyone does bad, when that is not true. Everyone has good days and bad days... just when people have good days they tend to be too busy enjoying their good day to even worry about the board and not post they are having a good day, but they usually remember about it when they feel they need support which is what we are all here for... good days, bads days, worse days, in-between days, and all other days.

Sure RA is a PAIN literally and causes uncertainty and doubts, but ya know more than likely someone else on here has been thru something like you are going thru and can show you that RA did not damper them all too much. Even if it is with their sense of humor, their informational mind, their poetic mind, or even just being a "plain RA Jane".

All I am saying is no one is stealing anything, except you... you are taking what newly DXed people need which is US, everyone on this board, except maybe you since you tend to cause more harm than good. Not everyone one is everyones cup-o-tea, I know I am not, but hey! That is Life.

My screen is the same as that of country girl - there aren't any ads, nor have there ever been, on either side of my screen or between any posts.  Perhaps someone is "seeing things." 

No; sometimes there's a long yellow box to the left of the message boxes that says "Ads by Yahoo" at the top. Several differnt adds are under it.

It's not always there. Just sometimes for some reason. It's here now....but when I read the last page and someone said (sorry, short term memory shot!) they didn't see it; neither did I.

Strange....but far from the strangest thing that happens around here.

My firewall blocks a lot of ads.  Maybe it is that for everyone else too?
Obviously a good many people haven't installed a firewall or their firewall isn't effective in eliminating all the advertising.  Obvious, too, is that the poster with an issue in regard to advertising doesn't have an effective firewall either.

Jesus Christ!!!  Are you really that bored with your life that you dig this old sh*t up?  Can you possibly be anymore pathetic?  My God, go get a job, a hobby, volunteer somewhere, visit with family (if they'll have you), visit with friends (if you have any), do something with your life...GET A F UCKIN LIFE!!!
