Dear folks, Every time I get into a group of peopl SOMEONE had a cold, respritory infection or something! I'm going to take my methotrexate quickly, incase i get sick, and have to 'get off of it' for awhile. If you are sick you can't take MTX, right? What about prednisone? or Remicade? Yikes!, now i"m scared.

sarah, i also have a cold, but still took my mtx. today. what i have heard is not to take it only if you have an infection.. good luck, keep me posted. Well see if i wake up sicker in the morning, day after mtx. shot.

You are exposed to all kinds of stuff everywhere.....try not to be overly anxious about it. It's likely you won't catch anything.

You could just as easily pick up something at the grocery store.

Prednisone you can take when you are sick, mtx i have seen that every dr has his/her own opinoin on that.

I continued to take MTX and Humira with a cold.  I watched closely for any abnormal symptons but there was never a problem.  It would be hard to stop Humira anyway, since you could get a cold right after an injection and then it's two weeks before there's an opportunity to skip it...even longer for the infusions.  I say, relax and don't worry.

I do my mtx and humira with a cold.  The docs get concerned when you have an infection and need to be on antibiotics.   I had to go on sulphur antibiotics before I could have a tooth extracted when I had a Root Canal abcess recently.

I'm on 17.5mg Methotrexate, 8 mgs Pred, plus Placquenil & Brufen.  Didn't have to stop any of the meds, and had no problems.  But I guess as Kelsaysmommy says, every Dr. has their own opinion, and I guess we must follow our own one's advice.

I guess it's just another pebble in the pathway, or, in some cases, rock on the road!!!
