Is it possible to become completely disabled from Rupus? Where they have to take of several month off of work?HI Elliot, I have RA and Fibro and a few others but not Lupus, but when I was diagnosed with RA, it was so severe and still is that I had to go on disability, I applied one year after being diagnosed as I had intended to go back to work after maternity leave, but I could not look after myself, let alone the baby, so even hubby had to give up work to look after me and the kids too, so I guess the answer to your question is a big YES, don't be afraid, whatever comes our way, we will deal with it as we have to, its awful having to give up work, and I still miss it after 7 years, but other doors open. a BIG YES!!!! I have RA and fibro and a few little other things. I had to give up work over a year a go. It was one of the hardest things I have ever done. It got to the point that my work was suffering because I couldn't perform at the level I should. It wasn't fair to my employer or myself
