Can’t take the pain | Arthritis Information

just got off the phone with my rheumatologist and she told me to up my steroid dose again. for tonight, take 1 medrol, 1 tylenol and 1 ambien. in the morning, i'm to take 5 or 6 medrols with the plaquenin.

right now, i can barely walk...both knees are hot. i could light a cigarette off them. right hand and elbow are gone...blown up like balloons. then of course there's my left jaw.

I hope you get some relief. Keep calling that doc until you do. Elliot, It sounds like you are in horrible pain tonight. I hope the ambien and pred help and your swelling goes down! Hang in there...Sorry you are in such pain. I hope it doesn't last long.

hi all...

pain seem to abated, somewhat. i can at least walk this morning. took 20mg medrol first thing so hopefully i'll improve more. right hand is a bit troublesome, but as long as i can walk, i'm off to work.

Dear Elliott, I'm so sorry you are in such horrific pain. I know what you are going through. I do hope what you are taking helps you.

I'm going for another treatment of infusion (drips slowing into your whole body) of Remicade, 6x 2.5 of methotrexate a week and 2-1/2 of prednisone. This is not quite working for me as I want off of the pred!!, so more Remcade. the insurance (medicare) didn't want to pay for it but somehow my doctor managed to get them to 'let me have it', WELL, thanks a lot.....I need to be treated,

Try not to overdo Elliot! I know thats hard when you have to work. I am glad to hear your pain has abated a little bit and you can tolerate it now. Can you rest when you get home from work?

Glad you had a good day with the medrol. You may want to think about that your body is telling you HEY!!! This RA stuff is getting out of control!! and call your rheumy for an appt. to discuss some other treatment options. See how you feel when the pred pack is done. If you go back to all that pain it might be a good idea to see the doc.
