First of all , much thanks to grammaskittles for posting the pictures.

Now,for those of you who read my post about Sam our golden that was poisoned by antifreeze, I have an update.

I was too numb with grief, to fully comprehend, or acknowledge what happened at first.

The morning of Sunday, April 1 st the vet called us, and said that Sam's kidneys were shutting down, and there was no more she could do for him.

Haley my daughter who is ten, was awakened to this news.

Needless to say she was beside herself with grief.

She ran to her room sobbing, fully heartbroken, but at the same time ...pleading for us to do something to save her buddy.

The vet told us to be at her office at 2pm to say our final goodbyes.

We were sitting on our couch waiting for the time to come, to leave and see him, and dreading the finality of it all.

Haley prayed for a miracle...

About fifteen minutes later, we heard a dog barking outside our living room window. My husband looked outside and said " come here...look you won't believe this!'

We went to the window and there was a pitch black mama dog, and with golden puppy.

That looked so much like Sam.

We remembered the black dog being in our yard a few months back. We had  returned her to her home. Her info had been on her tag. Her home about 2 miles from us.

Now here she was again...and with a golden puppy.

Well, we once again took her home, but this time along with her puppy, who more than resembled Sam. At her house she had more, and each one looked like him.

We were too emotional to realize that a true miracle had occured.

What are the odds of her showing up at that moment with the puppy that looked most like Sam. When she had only ever found her way to our home once before.

The pups are definitely Sam's...we know now ...because we have three of them.

In each one we see a bit of him. We named the one that came to our house on that sad day ...Miracle, and she is most like him in appearance. When we hold her she wiggles just like he did as a baby.

Nellie the palest one, loves balls, and already wants one in her mouth at all times.

And Samson the one boy has his eyes. and watches us just like his daddy did...

I still cry for Sam, but he left a legacy behind.

Sam was not altered, because he was NKC registered as a stud. We had not used him for that, and definitely did'nt know that he had a romance on the sly. What a surprise! What a miracle!

These puppies have enabled by daughter to smile again, and even though she mentions Sam everyday, its hard to be sad with his babies in the house.

What a miracle.

This totally made my day

My daughter's pet rat just died this week.  She is so sad right now.  My heart just aches for her.

When you're down to NOTHING, God is up to SOMETHING!!

Our first dog was a Golden...his name was Beau. We had to put him down about 3 years ago due to congestive heart failure. He was the best dog ever!!!!

Regards,

Miracles certainly do happen.I am so glad you have something to ease the pain. I know it doesnt take away your heartache but it does feel as if sams life lives on. Hmmm...I have a JRA high school girl that is a fabulous writer and I wonder if she would turn this miracle into a childrens book.  I will talk to her about it.
