Couldn't decide whether to share this idea in the postings about  Regularity, On Pound Weight Loss or Prednisone Cravings...so thought I would just start a new topic for now...

So anyway, here is a weird little dessert/regularity idea I want to share that I came up with last night during my pred induced insomnia/insatiable appetite issue I was having while at the same time contemplating the potential problems of pain killer induced irregularity...

Dannon Activia (that 2 week it works or its free challenge product) Light Fat Free "Bifidous Regularis" Yogurt mixed together with a  spoonful of Kraft Cheescake Filling Mix (from the refrigerator section) and fresh strawberries.

Admittedly it wasn't very pretty looking, but it did work immediately on my cheesecake craving, although I guess it will be a couple of weeks before I know if it will address the other issue...but you get your money back if it doesn't... :-)

Regards,

hi melly,
saw a programme on tv once that looked at hunger issues.  they found that fluids kept people satisfied more than solids.   there was a scientific reason for this but i cant for the life of me remember what it was.   so, a bowl of soup kept people much happier longer than a sandwich.   anyway, thought i'd mention my smoothie recipe again! (sorry!) because its good for bowel movement and filling you up (and its a fluid!).
1 large banana (prebiotic good for the gut!)
large glass cloudy apple juice (must be cloudy for fibre)
large handful of frozen summer fruits (blackberries raspberries strawbs etc)
blitz in a blender for 2 minutes and drink
It willl fill you up, its very tasty, healthy and good for bowels.

Thanks so much Anna!

I will try that and it sounds absolutely delicious!

Cloudy apple juice?  Do you get that in the organics section?

It is unfiltered apple juice and i think you can find it in most grocery stores.
Also, juicing your own apples would be a good idea.
