Hi folks, I just had my 4th remicade infusion. This was different nurse and boy am I greatly annoyed!
I told her my veins are weird in my hand(where she insisted on putting the I-V), well THAT didn't work! So, she tried it AGAIN!! Well that didn't work! So, she put it in my right arm where I told her to stick it in the first place, ...perfect! Honestly, I'm telling my doctor. I have a big bruse on the top of my hand and it hurt!
She was one of those women who look real sweet, but wasn't. I was moving when the arm/band was testing my blood pressure and pulse, she looked REALLY mean and said "you have to keep still" (I was trying to eat my cereal bar as it was noon!), She wan't real nice about anything....like I had to ask for a blanket throw, and she didn't talk to me,which was okay with me, but kinda rude. I went to sleep and woke up as she said, 'you are finished'. OH< terrific!!
She went through the whole thing about I might have reactions I asked 'like what?" SHE SAID, well, "where is the brochure we gave you"??. ...."AT home, I guess, I didn't bring it! with me???!" So, she said to be on the look out for a rash (where?"I asked"), "well any where", she said.!!
IN 24-72 hours from 3pm today!! So, tomorrow I'll let you all know what REMICADE (incresed 3 X's) does to me. I want this stuff to work.
This disease is tough enough without 'nurses' (think that's her title?) with attitudes, BEING nasty.

All I want to do is get off of the prednisone, which is such scary stuff.....I can't tell you. That's why more remicade.....

kelI hope the Remicade is working for you. I had an infusion on the 6th but I
am seeing the Dr. on Monday. Everything is inflammed-including joints
that had never bothered me before. I am receiving ultrasound for the
inflammation in my chest and the PT was shocked. She called the Dr. I
want to talk to him about meds. If the Remicade is not cutting it it's time
to move on. I have been on Enbrel and Humira so we will see what he
says.
Each person has different experiences with meds. I hope this is the
answer you are looking for.
