My wedding photos were damaged in transit when we moved and i was devastated. The photo's were a wedding present from my old boss( he was a photograher). so without me knowing hubby contacted him and he still had the negatives on file and printed me out a whole new set ( this is an international undertaking as my boss had moved to another country).

Does anyone else have a wedding story to tell.

My husband and I got married in November 04 in the Bahamas. It was a "Weddingmoon" and it was fantastic. We're more in love today than we were that day. It's been so fun being married to him so far. Years ago if you would have told me I would be so happy being married I don't think I would have believed you. I look forward to everyday with "Mr. Lovie"

Oh, that's is so wonderful. You are quite beautiful and you're married to the hunk? Wow! It was quite a loving thing that your husband and boss did for you.  Sorry for the size of that thing....I couldn't figure out how to get it on there any other way!

Lisa, that was so thoughtful of your husband to get those photos back for you!  What a sweet guy - I think you picked a winner!  You both looked so happy - it was a special day, and I'm glad you have your pictures back to remember it.

Photos are so important - we take them for granted and stick them in drawers and boxes, unmarked.  To me they are the most valuable thing I own - far more important than any jewelry or other "valuables".  Being a genealogist, I love to get old photos of my ancestors, and get a glimpse into their lives, lived so long ago.  It is so frustrating, however, when I find old unmarked photos and I have no idea who the person in the photo is.  I am trying to remember to mark my photos now, as soon as I get them, so that future generations will remember me, LOL!

I am now in the midst of planning my daughter's wedding and it sure brings back memories.  We are having great fun working on it together, and with the two of us in charge, it's bound to be memorable!  I am so lucky to have the special close relationship I have with her, and although I know I will enjoy the actual wedding day, the times we're sharing in planning it are far more special for me.

Lovie- your wedding photo is amazingLovie, I just saw your photo!  Wow - what a gorgeous couple!  I'm so happy you're so happy!

Thank you...it was a wonderful time!

My best friend from high school is getting married May 5th and she's planning a great wedding. This is her 1st wedding and she's 35! She's dreamed of this for so long. It is an exciting time.

Hill; I can't wait to plan a wedding with my daughter. I keep telling my husband we need to start saving now. It's so expensive! That's why Stan and I went to the Bahamas and got married. It was our second wedding for both of us and we just wanted a special time just for us. We took another couple with us.

Lovely photos for both couples.

I wish my wedding will be also lovely, despite the obstacles that come in the way.

You ladies have great wedding photos!!!  Mine are in storage right now at Danny's sisters house.  But here is our unusual wedding story.

We did not have a "traditional" wedding by any means.  I had a dress etc. but it was just not traditional.  It was New Years Eve 1991 and we were going midnite bowling with our best friends.  Pay 50 bucks a couple unlimited bowling...drinks...food..etc.  Danny's dad and step mother came up to our friends apartment with our niece who was a young teen at the time (she is now 28? and has 2 kids of her own) and started in on us about getting married.  We had been together for 4 years and they had been on our case about it the last 2 years lol.  We just happened to have gone and gotten our wedding license that week.  Danny piped up and said to his dad if you can find us a minister and a church I will marry her tonight.  His dad said ok I will do that.  AND HE DID.  Police departments always have on call chaplains.  So he went to the police dept.  told them the story.  They actually paged the on call minister and he agreed to open his church and marry us.  Our best friends...our niece...one of our friends home on leave from the Marines during the first Desert Storm was there also.

We got married...went midnite bowling.  Some idiot let off a smoke bomb in the mens bathroom and the fire dept. was called.  And the minister that married us was also a volunteer fireman LOL.  He said congrats to us again lol.

That was a little over 15 years ago.  I still love that man (in fact as the years go by I think I fall deeper in love with him) and still as starry eyed over him as all those years ago.  And he still feels the same about me.

OMG that's such a great story!  I love it!  Okay you guys got me going so here's a wedding photo - remember - it was 25 years ago, so be kind about the styles of the dress and tuxedo's, LOL

Gram~That's a great wedding story!

Hillhoney- I love the photo, your dress is wonderful.

Liz- what a great way to get married.Sometimes non-traditional is good too. It all about being spontanious.

I know Hillhoney very well and she is near and dear to me.  That mischevious sparkle you see in her eyes in her wedding pic?  Yeah she still has that!  Awesome pick of you guys!  I love it!  Hubby has gotten gray tho.  What did you put him thru hmmmm????  Just teasing you.  You know I loves yas!!Hubby and I got married aboard a cruise ship in Miami. They took care of everything. We arrived at hotel w/guests the night before and they picked us up the next morning and took us to a spa for hair/make-up, etc. then to the ship. They handled the music, luncheon, pictures, flowers and cake. After the wedding and reception, our guests left the ship and we sailed to the Bahamas for 8 days. It was amazing!Such nice pictures and wonderful stories!!
