My Drs appointment | Arthritis Information

I promised to post about my appointment - which now seems a little silly because I don't know any more than I did.  Basically, she sent me for a million blood tests - most of them expected. I won't know more until she calls me with the results so I'm extremely nervous. She did x-ray my S.I. joints (?) in my lower back because I've been having some pain, and those were fine.  I forgot to ask her about physical therapy for my shoulder, but she was sweet and reassured me that I will one day get back my range of motion and muscle strength.  I had her do a check for FMS, and she definitely doesn't think I have that. She gave me a steroid shot in the arse, which she says may relieve some of my symptoms for six weeks while I wait for the Plaquenil to start working.  Also, she says it'll give me energy so that maybe I can catch up on my school work.

Sounds like your appointment went well.  Sorry they didnt tell you anything more but at least they gave you something.  Glad she sounded postive about getting your range of motion back in your shoulder.  Hope the shot helps you out!  Now get back to studying LOL JK

Sounds like things went well at your appt.  At least there was no new bad news.  I am glad she sounded positive about getting that range of motion back.  The part of your back she probably xrayed was your sacral (sp?) area.  Glad that turned out fine.  Maybe the pain is from sitting and studying?

Please let us know your blood work results.  Will keep you in our thoughts til those get back.

Get studying!!!  Heeeheee!

Your SI joints, or sacroiliac joints are basically what attaches your pelvis to your spine.  I have a lot of pain there, but like you, the x-ray shows nothing.  Sometimes it is checked to rule out Ankylosing Spondylitis.

Glad you don't have that or FMS.  Hopefully all these tests will tell them something!
