ALittle Bragging! | Arthritis Information

I think this is worthy of a little bragging! In Oct. 2003 I had so much pain in my left leg I had to start using a walker. In January of 2004 I had a left knee replacement, and a month later I broke my hip. I've been in a walker and wheelchair ever since.

Weeks ago I told you I've been walking with a platform walker and had gone up to 2500 feet and now my record is 3400 feet. DRUM ROLL! Now - this week I've started walking without the walker - about 100 feet unassisted!

No one, neither doctor nor therapist, ever gave me hope that I could walk again, and certainly not unassisted!!!
I just couldn't accept that prognosis and kept walking day after day! And now, three years later - look at me go!

I am VERY wobbly and my kids are real nervous watching me, but I don't do this without someone next to me and I am very careful, I promise.

And I've lost 132 pounds with only 10 pounds to my goal. And my blood sugar is under control too!

Worthy of bragging??
Love, Kathy
