Hi...new to this site! I have RA and AS.
I am married with 3 children
Just been put on steroids, going on to methotrexate for 1st time in about 3 weeks.
Also got Iritis at the moment, on steroid drops too...thankfully not the dialting ones this time, they are worse than the iritis.
Had OT assessment about 2 weeks ago and i am having a shower installed in about 3-4 weeks.

i have pa , oa in lower spine and as. currently i am taking arava , tramadol for the pain and other asthma meds. i was on methotrexate until it began affecting my liver. the tablets have also caused hypothyroidism. I am 41 with 3 children and two grandchildren.

Its great to see someone else on here from the UK. Im quite a newbie too, pls can you tell me what AS is as I seem to be having a mental block?
Regarding Methotrexate, have you been fully informed about the nasty side effects and are you happy about how you will be monitored on it. Only I was very very ill with the side effects and luckily at the time was in hospital.

I'm a newbee,too.
I have been on MTX for almost a yr. (8 tabs wkly) and have had NO side effects to speak of. Not sure if it's helping,tho!!
I also take Matanx (instead of the usual folic acid). It really helped w/fatique.

I've been on MTX for RA for about 5 years now. The side effects have been very few and well worth the results I have gotten.
