I had to get a background check today.  I drug myself in there as I have had the flu.

They COULD NOT take my fingerprints.  My finger tips could not lay down flat enough.  Has this ever happened to any of you?  They don't know how they are going to complete the check.  I am supposed to go back and try again.  OUCHOn the lighter side, perhaps you could take up a life of crime?? That makes no sense at all. Why don't they use the little adhesive things like on CSI. Besides, it is still your fingerprints whether or not they lay flat. I think a supervisor needs to jumpstart their brain.

I am sorry to hear that your fingers have changed so much though.
Typically they have a roller to apply the ink, and small paper squares to apply to each finger. This is what they do for small children, why couldn't they do it for you? Whoever did your prints was an idiot. I've had mine  done 4 times now and They've always done that for me, because I can't roll my fingers the way they need me to.

And no, I've never been arrested...lol 3 times was for the state record, since I worked at the daycare, and the other time was because someone broke into our car.

yea yea katie sure youve never been arrested LOL ;)

You may just be dehydrated due to the Flu. Load up on the GatorAid and give it another shot. Last time I had mine done (for a job) they used somthing that looked like a small copier with red light. It took them a few times to get mine.My 1st time they were unreadable, course I didn't know the retired policeman who did them was weeks away from dying from cancer and it hurt so bad I thought I was going to cry. Did you know that you can have your ability to do fingerprints for the FBI pulled if you do too many unreadable ones? Neither did I, and since the 1st guy died, the only other people who do this in my area, selling guns and knives out of their trailer, didn't want to do mine the 2nd time. I had to rub moisturizer in the week prior, drink lots of water to plump up the ridges and be treated like I was trying to hide something, because the 1st set was unreadable. They were selling guns and giant knives out the back of a trailer for pete's sake, I actually felt like a criminal. I learned more than I will ever need to know about what can make fingerprints unreadable, including the fact that mine are in real bad shape, from testing my blood sugar too much, to the medication I'm on and the chronic diseases I have. I hope I never have to have mine done again, ever. All I wanted to do was sign up for substituting.

Deidre

She didn't use any adhesive.  She would try to roll them on the card and it would just come out a blotch.  It also HURT.  She was kind of a ditz.  Kept asking me if having deformed fingers like that hurts.  Well, it hurts when you keep pressing on them

Good ideas guys.  I am going to state police tomorrow to try.  Too sick from flu today.  I am getting background check so I can get a pittance for taking care of Kelsey.  I have had her for over a year and I started this process last Sept.  This is rididulous.   If she were not my daughter, it would be a sizeable chunk of money.  Does that seem fair?  Anyway, with Brett gone, any money makes a difference.

Hope all is well.  My sweetheart caretaker is here running around doing all my chores and I am laying on the couch.  How did I ever live without her.
