Good Evening everyone,

I am so excited...I just read an article about a gene that they can prove to be a cause of RA...They have known about this gene for a while but never could prove that it is a link to how we get RA.

I encluded a small excerpt from the article....

Rheumatoid arthritis gene link proven

The gene PTPN22 has been confirmed as one of the factors that cause rheumatoid arthritis by University of Otago researchers.

"This is only the second gene in the past 25 years to be universally accepted as a gene associated with the susceptibility for arthritis," Department of Biochemistry Senior Research Fellow Dr Tony Merriman says."

Here is a link to the website that has the article.

This could be tatamount to getting rid of RA and maybe other Arthritises for good or maybe finding better drugs that could possibly help us keep our RA in remission.  It sure will be interesting to see how all of this comes into play...
