Hi All,

I'm new to the forum and looking for advice of any/all kinds.  I am not convinced that OA is my problem.. mainly because my primary doc is an idoit (got to find a new one) and all the other docs she has sent me to don't seem to know much more than she does.  I've had xrays, MRI and CT scans as well as labs.  My RA factor was 75 which apparently is very high but according to the Rheumatologist (sp) I was sent to you have to meet five out of seven risk points to get an RA diag.  He felt that my problem is OA.  He put me on Mobic and suggested PT.  I found a good chrioprator instead and she has helped me alot.  She viewed the MRI film and agreeds that I have OA pretty much all over.  I am now on Celebrex instead of Mobic.  Still I hurt alot.  Lumbar spine, hips, knees and left shoulder blade and neck.  Granted, without the Celebrex I'd probably be in a wheelchair but I really struggle to walk, stand, do any kind of activity for any length of time.  There has to be options....  Any help is much appreciated.  Thanks.

hi , nice to have you join us.

i know what you mean about docs misdiagnosing. i was in extreme pain after an asthma attack put me in a coma . coma 10 days hospital 3 mths learning to walk, eat talk etc all again. my local doctor kept saying i has muscle weakness due to the coma etc and to go to the gym to strengthen muscles. yeh while unable to walk without a cane i was supposed to go to the gym !! finally 2 years later after constant unhappy trips to the doctors he sent me to the rheumatologist who diagnosed psoriatic arthritis at the first visit.

see another doctor if you can until you get the help you deserve. by the sounds of it your doc isnt very helpful. without tramadol for my pain i too would be using a cane or wheelchair. celebrex is an anti-inflamatory but it is not a pain killer.

Hi! how are you! Welcome...i had the same problem with my first doctor but now i am better and having Humira. You can read about it here or in www.humira.com
