Does Prednisone Do This? | Arthritis Information

I was wondering about it's side affects.

I get alot of bad cramping, dystonia's and tetany type things.

I read one of the side affects of prednisone can be cramping.

Anybody noticed that they get this after going on Prednisone?

I'm wondering with me if it is making it worse or if some of what I get can be attributed to it.

Got this all over numb feeling as well and wondering if that's the prednisone.

Boy I want off this stuff. I'm thinking of going on Trilisate about 750mg qid and see if it wouldn't work.

Took down inflammation of another sort with me before.

EDIT;
Well going to add to this instead of a new thread as most of what I'm concerned about is here.

I just tried to walk from my car to Walmart and had trouble doing it. Felt as if my knees were going to go backwards and ....just had trouble picking up my feet.

Bed time is the worse for cramping and I think I feel a nerve going between my ankle on the outside and my knee.

So asking again just in case it got missed, do any of you have this kind of problem and do any of you get cramping from the prednisone?

I do not get the cramping that you described. I also do not know trilisate. The highest dose of prednisolone that I was on was 15mgm.

I would be careful mixing drugs without rheum advice.

I have had that awful felling that your legs weigh a ton and you can not pick them up, but I feel that is the PMR and inflammation.

I also have had the tingling in my legs and feet but that has improved. I am 17mths into PMR and going OK.

Have you  checked out your diet with a dietitian and also your back ? Maybe some acupunture or massage? Both of these plus the dietitian helped me cope during this PMR.

I think I am very lucky to live in Sydney where these extra services are available fairly close.  Good luck and I also use a wheat heat packs a lot to just soothe the troubled body. HUGS   zaliHello Zali,
Thank you for that information.

Maybe it is the PMR....can't even turn over in bed without a bad cramp.

I think that checking the back is a really good idea.

So you connect yours with the PMR as opposed to prednisone. Just the kind thing I wanted to know.
Thank you so much for your reply.

Sydney huh? Sounds warm.

~KewaneeI haven't had the cramping that you describe, Kewanee, but my rheumy initially asked me if I had that problem so one might assume it is part of this ol' demonGma,
That is interesting. Your Doc. actually asked you.

Hmmm. Boy I don't want to go to a neuro. for nothing.
