Received an update on who is supporting the Arthritis Prevention, Control and Cure Act.  Here are the links

Senate:  http://capwiz.com/arthritis/issues/bills/?bill=9441291&c s_party=all&cs_status=C&cs_state=ALL

House:  http://capwiz.com/arthritis/issues/bills/?bill=9466066&c s_party=all&cs_status=C&cs_state=ALL

So does this mean that everyones name that is not on the list, does not
sponser this? thank you shannon, i am looking into where my congressmen are with this
issue as i see no one from montana on the list.

Just because they are not on the list doesnt mean that they are not in support of it.  Alot of congressmen/women dont sponsor disease specific bills, but they may sign on to it when it is brought infront of congress or the house.  Yes, anyone that you dont see on there, write to them!!! Thats all we can really do at this point is give our congressmen/women and our representives infrmation about why the should sponser this bill.

I just wrote to Jon Tester, senator from Montana. Hopefully at least he will
think about it. I will post his response when I get it (in 6 months, lol)

There isn't a politician around that wouldn't sign onto this Bill. Every person in America at the very least knows someone that has arthritis. Send them letters. Look up your Congressman's address on the web. Send a request for support to his home district office. Cc their campaign office. Once they realize how important this is to their voters they'll take notice of it. It shouldn't take more than a few request and they'd be stupid not to support it.

I think these folks in Government are seeing so many things cross their desk every day they need a little attention pointed toward certain issues.

It's an Election year folks. Let's actually do something that can help issues that personally effect us.

VOTE! Get involved in the process.

Lovie, I was looking at the statistics in my state and was blown away by the
percent of people here that have some sort of arthritic condition. I"m sure it
is all lumped into one broad category but like 26 percent in my state and
much higher in some of the other states. I would have liked to see them
breakdown percentage of RA in my state.

This is one time when we're fortunate to stand with a larger group. OA is very common and affects almost everyone sooner or later to some degree. That doesn't make it any less painful. The elderly in your voting district alone is huge I'm sure and they are the ones most dedicated to voting. Any candidate would be foolish to over look these voters.

Let's face it; Votes is what keeps them motivated and if they are afraid of loosing votes by not supporting something that affects so many of us or our loved ones they'll pay closer attention to it.

writing to other Government officals is ok; but the ones that know you are in their district they want to help you.....and support things that are important to you. I'll give you some don't work this way......but many of them do. Those are the ones that deserve your vote in 08.
