What a patient can do to understand | Arthritis Information

1) I always insist on a copy of all my blood work, xray reports, MRIs, whatever, on the spot.  That's my right.

2)  I always insist on a bill, with the coding, to look up what the MD has coded me out as for the visit.

3)  I always call back for my blood work, even when they have the big sign taped up on the wall that says "IF YOU DON"T HEAR BACK FROM US, YOUR TESTS WERE NORMAL" - right.

4)  I always ask what is your plan, what is your goal, what is your prognosis, what is your opinion.  Then you get the dismissal letter.  LOL  Take care ~~ Cathy

My RD encourges as mcuh patient involvement as possible. She loans me
books on RA and the Centre has classes where they teach you how to read
your lab reports and stuff, and copies of my lab reports are automatically
sent to my home at the same time they're sent to her. They want to
empower people to be active in their healthcare decisions.
