why are you changing from Humira if things are going ok?

Welcome to AI. Glad you're here.

im not changing right now but it seems i have my eritro (i dont know how to translate it from spanish...hehehe) very highg and i m being observed cause it seems that humira is losing the efect i mean is not working anymore...i didnt have pain at all with humira until january 2007 when i started waking up with pain and my blood levels like eritro have been increasing for worse...

thanks for your welcoming..im glad too of being here!

I think I understand. Basicially your lab test show that the RA is progressing?

I hope that soon someone will be here to tell you about their experience with the switch from Humira to Orencia. I know we have a couple who have switched and are seeing good results. I hope that will be the expereince with you as well. Good Luck.

Hope to see more of you here. Keep coming back.

I have tried humira and am currently on Orencia but my switch was from Enbrel to Orencia. Humira did the least for me out of all the drugs.

I stuck it out with Enbrel as long as I could before I switched. My Orencia hasnt kicked in yet but it wasnt expected to this soon. My concern would be if Orencia didnt work for you or it was short lived what could you go on then? I didnt have much choice since I have tried remicade 2 x, humira and Enbrel 2x. For me it wasnt much of a choice. Have you tried all the others already?

Bienevido!!!  Ok besides asking where the bathroom is and hello and good bye that is the extent of my spanish lol.  Oh yeah I can ask how are you and what is your name too lol.  And swear lol.

I haven't had to decide to make a switch in meds in yet.  Research what yu can about Orencia before making your decision.  Good luck with your decision!  Let us know what you do decide.

Ksee~Rituxan is another simular option. It's the same sort of infusion as orencia but you only get it like 4 times a year. I've heard good things about that also.

thank you for your answer!

i think im gonna do some lab tests and wait until humira effect is over and THEN pass to the next step which is Orencia...i think that would be better..dont you think?

I was diagnosed 2 years ago with RA although it does not show up in my blood.  After trying several different drugs I started Humera about a year and a half ago.  Although it relieved my symptoms somewhat, after awhile I noticed I was still in alot of pain after a hard day of work on my feet and a lot of lifting.  Storm systems moving in, first I thought it was a low pressure front, then a high pressure?????

My immune system got so low I was sick all of the time, and wierd stuff, like shingles, fungus of the milk duct of the breast, everytime I looked at someone sick, I got sick.

I stopped Humera on my own in mid March and started low dose Pred. just 10 mg. per day and 600mg of Motrin 3x day . Along with Zantac to protect my stomach.  I can't say I feel a whole lot different.  I have good days and bad when the weather acts up or I'm working alot.

I've got an appointment with a new RA May 23rd.  I just think my old RA was a joke.  He has never taken an x-ray of one joint in my body. I'm told by others that is the first thing they should do.  Among other things I think he was just "Milking me and my insurance Co."

I don't know Roxy,  I don't know if I built up a resistance to it or what but I was just tired of being sick all the time.  I'm trying to hold on to my job but it gets harder and harder.

I've been off of it for almost two months and can't tell a whole lot of difference.

Oh yeah,  I took my shots in my stomach, and started getting lumps in my stomach?????

Who the hell knows????

KAT

P.S.  I copied this from a reply to Roxy's Humera question.
