Hi all, I have that 'strange feeling' I need my mtx treatment, but it has been 5 days Wed, so only 6 tomorrow.....Friday is the weekly date. Would you take it tonight? I feel like I realllly need it. SarahI have taken it 24 hours early. Still here. If you think you need it take it... how much dosis do you take? be careful with that and ask your doctor first just in case...i did it a lot of times and im still here too DO NOT take MTX less than 7 days apart. It is very dangerous to do so. If you feel like it is not doing enough of job, then make the trip back into your doc to see if he will up the dosage. But if you search for info on MTX, you will quickly discover that it is life threatening to go closer than a full week.
Don't Do It!! That is a drug that you don't want to take early. Please call
your dr. if you need an extra boost.

I have done mine a day early and a day late before to adjust my shot schedule to my schedule to my schedule. I called my rd first and 24 hours is not that big of a deal but he still didn't like I was doing it.
Becky is right...if you need that extra boost you should call rd because something isn't right. Aren't you weaning off of pred? What dosage are you down to? This could be why you are not doing so well right now.

Wow!, thanks for the input, I take 15mgs, and took 'the last blast on Friday late, I feel rather strange 'like I need the stuff' , but will surely wait until Friday. I'm taking 5mgs. of pred and the doc said to stay at that amt until the end of the month. Cheers, sarah
I've taken mine 24 hours early on numerous occations to adjust my schedule as other's mentioned....but not because I wasn't feeling good. I'd stick it out one more day if I was you.
If you aren't getting what you feel like is a full 7 days worth out of it it's time for an increase. It's amazing the difference just one more pill can be. It's my opinion you are ready for an increase anyway. You've got a good bit of wiggle room there with your MTX. Increasing it should help you get that predisone down also. I myself would much rather take a higher dose of MTX and get off that predisone if possible.
