OMG, that IS scary. I hope it's not as bad as you think. Even as a young child
I had times when I would go blind for a while when I turned out the lights,
but it was just because I was deficient in beta-kerotene. Please take care of
yourself and try not to get stressed out. Odds are it's just chicken pox. I'll be
thinking of you.Oh gosh Flint, what bad luck to get Chickenpox, that can be very itchy and for an adult worse than when we were children. I don't have any experience with the eye thing, but I hope it is a false alarm...try not to worry too much until you can have it checked out. Good thoughts comin' your way!! BIG TIME, !!! Bee goood to yourself, rest up. Sarah

Hi Flint, I am really sorry you have had chickenpox, it is a good idea to keep an eye on anything suspect but please try not to worry about the more serious side of things as worry will make you ill.Have the doctors said that the pea sized lump was to do with the chickenpox. There is a link between chicken pox virus and MS but i know someone who got the virus at 47 and they are just fine and its quite rare. I can imagine how terrifying it is for you as I take Humira and a rare side effect of that could be lymphoma but I cant live thinking i am going to get it.

Speak to the doctors about your fears and maybe they can put your mind at rest.

take care

lisa

You'll be ok.

Flint; Have you ever had the chicken pox as a child?

Hope you are feeling better soon. Try not to think the worst.

Dear Flint,
Catching chicken pox as an adult can be much worse than the case a child would experience and I don't want to add any 'we had a friend stories' to your already racing thoughts, but I'm hoping you're better than what you're imagining, but I also know where you're coming from. Good Luck.

(((Flint)))  Sorry everything is so rough for you right now.  Didn't your RD ask if you ever have had the chix pox?  If I didn't...I would have had to have the shot for it.

The incidence of getting MS after the itchies is very low.  Don't sweat that.  Just focus on getting thru the itchies.  Try an oatmeal bath for it too.  It is very soothing.

Danielle got the chicken pox when she was 3 and our doc gave her something to make them not as bad and recover from them faster.  I can't remember the name of it.  Does anyone know what it is?  Phats...Lorster...who is else is a nurse here?  LOL.  I wonder if we can take that stuff for it.

Flint, that is miserable. There are some extra precautions you need to take with having chicken pox and RA. You need to get your eyes examined. We had one friend on here that got it in her eyes and risked losing her eye sight. So, make sure that isn't happening. Also, shingles can also become an additional problem. It is painful and has to be treated so make sure the doctors are keeping their eyes open on that one. I am sorry that you are having to deal with this and hope you get over it quickly. Flint - Get some of this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piriton  It is very effective against chickens.
